Australia Online Safety Act

The Online Safety Act 2021 (OSA) regulates digital services that provide access to online content in Australia. A goal of the OSA is to improve online safety for Australians, ensuring that digital service providers have systems in place to manage risks of online harms. More information about the OSA can be found here.

Spotify is subject to certain obligations under the OSA. This page provides information for Spotify users, creators and Australian authorities on how to contact Spotify and the Australian eSafety Commissioner.

Report content on Spotify

At Spotify, we want to give users the best possible experience, and our long-standing Platform Rules help us do that by outlining what is and isn't allowed on our services. If you believe content violates Spotify's Platform Rules, you can report it.

If you believe something on Spotify is illegal or harmful under the OSA (e.g., it is “class 1A or 1B material”, including child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA), pro-terror material, crime and violence material or specific types of drug-related material), please submit a report through our Australia Illegal Content Reporting Form. We review reports against our Platform Rules and legal obligations.

For additional complaints (if you do not have a specific URI to report, or want to submit a general complaint about Spotify’s compliance with the Australian Online Safety Act), please use this form.

Spotify users must also comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and respect the intellectual property rights of third parties (read about our approach to intellectual property). To notify Spotify of content that infringes your intellectual property rights or otherwise violates the law, fill out this form.
