Questions?
We've got answers. Find more answers on our Support site.
- How many songs can I download?
You can download up to 10,000 songs on each device, across up to 5 devices — that's up to 50,000 songs available offline in total.
- Do I need internet to listen to downloads?
No. Once a song is downloaded, you can listen to it completely offline. You just need to go online at least once every 30 days so Spotify can sync your library and ensure artists are compensated.
- Can I download podcasts too?
Yes. Premium subscribers can download podcast episodes and listen offline. Free users can also download podcasts, but music downloads are a Premium-only feature.
- What happens if I don't go online for 30 days?
Your downloads will temporarily become unavailable until you reconnect. Once you're back online, your library will sync and your downloads will work again — no need to re-download anything.
- How much storage space do downloads use?
It depends on audio quality, but Spotify recommends having at least 1 GB of free space. You can manage your downloads anytime through Settings > Data-saving and offline.
- Is offline listening available on all Premium plans?
Yes. Offline downloads are included with every Premium plan — Individual, Duo, Family, and Student.
