Web Engineering Manager User Engagement

We are looking for a Web Chapter Lead to join a tribe called Jam in Stockholm. Jam is focused on making it easy for all Spotify users to discover and enjoy sessions of personalized entertainment by matching users to the right content at the right time. Your primary responsibility is to the people on your team: ensuring that the members are growing as engineers, doing valuable work and generally having a great time at Spotify.

What you’ll do

  • Develop people through coaching, mentoring, and management support
  • Advocate and promote leadership at all levels within the Spotify engineering community
  • Work closely with the recruitment team to hire and onboard web engineers
  • Participate in web engineering technology architecture discussions for product development
  • Contribute to feature development, prototyping web UI’s and working closely with designers
  • Contribution to development of productivity tools for designers and engineers
  • Advocate for software development best practices (CI, testing, UX, responsive design, etc.)
  • Grow the technical expertise of your team on web development, performance, scalability and maintainable architecture
  • Work closely with squads, product owners, agile coaches and stakeholders to ensure we deliver innovative products and campaigns to our users
  • Work from our office in Stockholm and be willing to travel to other Spotify offices

Who you are

  • You have a deep understanding of scalable systems serving millions of users
  • You preferably have large-scale web experience in an Agile development environment
  • You are experienced with leading, coaching, and mentoring teams and individuals
  • You are knowledgeable about web development technologies. The teams you will be interacting with use mainly Javascript. We are open to candidates with experience in other programming languages.
