Product Owner for Activation - Growth Team

In order to accomplish this mission, we work diligently with areas such as user acquisition, activation, retention, conversion of free to premium and more. Spotify's premium products provide the world's best music experience, ad free on all platforms for when you are online or offline.

We’re looking for highly motivated talent to join our Activation Force to focus on onboarding and activating new users in our products. The role can be based in Stockholm or London and report to the Senior Director of Activation as part of a fast moving Growth team in the Product Organization. We seek exceptional talent to join our group of Product Owners in designing and developing activation strategies as an integral part of the Activation Growth Team. 


The Gig

You will be responsible for developing and implementing onboarding and activation plans to help new users understand and make the most of our products. This is to increase engagement and aid premium conversion and customer retention. As a crucial member of the Activation Force, you will work closely with Marketing, Tech and the rest of the Growth team in building and communicating our next generation onboarding platform.

Partnering with our Analytics team to understand and model the effectiveness of onboarding, activation strategies, and initiatives, as well as identifying friction and pain points in our products.

Working closely with teams across the business to ensure that our strategies and initiatives are contextualized and communicated.  You will be solving the most critical problems, effectively hacking our front door, and designing our users’ very first impression of Spotify.


Requirements

The basics

5+ years professional experience working in a product driven and analytical environment (eg. product development or ownership) of which 3+ years professional experience in online consumer business.   


Skills and competencies

You are sensitive to your users’ needs, understand their intent, desires and ambitions, and your driving force is to remove friction and confusion from their usage of the product. You are passionate about design and usability and have a strong sense of leadership. You are skilled at explaining how new things work and why they bring value to people’s life.

You are data-driven and have the right mental tools, models, experience and mindset to build a strong case for your strategies. You also encompass both the needs of the business and the customer. Another key aspect is having an understanding that true user delight comes from combining human intuition, heart and narrative. Others regard you as a product oriented and results-focused person. You are a self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment. You think creatively and strategically and you have the ability to motivate team members.
