Questions?
- What is included in Premium?
Select Premium plans now include 12 hours of audiobook listening time every month from our subscriber catalog of over 350,000 titles. Unused listening hours expire at the end of each month and do not carry over. Learn more about our Premium plans.
- Do I need a Premium account to listen to audiobooks?
No, you don't need a Premium account to listen to audiobooks on Spotify. While eligible Premium subscribers (Individual subscribers and Duo and Family plan managers) will have access to 12 listening hours per month from our large subscriber catalogue and via an elevated product experience, any user can pay to unlock access to particular titles. What's more, audiodramas and some audiobook titles are available for all users to stream. Learn more.
- Can I unlock audiobooks in the Spotify app?
For now, audiobooks on Spotify can only be unlocked in the Spotify Web Player, but you can listen in the app once you’ve unlocked a title. Head to open.spotify.com, find an audiobook you want to listen to, and follow the steps to check out. Then head back to the app on any device to start listening.
- I’m an author, how do I get my audiobook on Spotify?
If your audiobook rights belong to a publisher, ask them if they’re distributing on Spotify. If you’re an independent or self-published author, the easiest way to make your audiobook available on Spotify is through Findaway Voices.
- I’m on a Duo or Family plan but do not see the option to stream Audiobooks as part of my plan. How can I access audiobook listening time?
If you're a member of a Premium Duo or Premium Family plan, you can access the audiobook subscriber catalog by requesting an add-on. Your plan manager, who manages your subscription, can choose to give you access to this add-on. Explore add-ons here.
- If I have access to the audiobook subscriber catalog, what happens when I have fully consumed my allotted hours for the month?
If you fully consume your plan’s monthly allotted time, you can purchase a top-up, available in increments of 10 hours, that allows you to keep listening to audiobooks before your next month's renewal. Get more details here.
- My question isn’t covered here. Where can I get further support?
Check our Support pages for more information about our plans or unlocking individual audiobooks on Spotify.
