Why am I being charged more than once a month for my subscription?

There are a number of possible reasons for this:

  1. Someone else in your family, or maybe a friend, has access to your credit card details, and they have used it to pay for their own Spotify subscription.
  2. A person unknown to you has gained illegal access to your credit card details, and is now using them to pay for their own subscription.
  3. Instead of upgrading your existing Spotify account to Premium or Unlimited, you may have accidentally created a new account which you have been using.

What you should do:

  • We’d recommend that you double-check with your family and friends to see whether someone has been using your credit card details to pay for their Spotify subscription.
  • If you’re not successful, there is a direct way to find out which Spotify account is being funded by your credit card. To do so, you’ll have to get in touch with your bank. Please ask your bank for the exact date and time stamp of the last transaction going from your card account to Spotify, as well as the bank answer authorization code - a unique, six digit number.
  • We can then use that information to pinpoint the transaction in our system and hopefully solve the problem.
