Spotify Premium and Spotify Unlimited are subscription services that charge recurring payments to your account until cancelled.
When you first entered your credit card or PayPal details and confirmed the payment, you were redirected to the confirmation page. This page highlights the details of your purchase and states that there will be a recurring payment until cancelled. We also send an email receipt to this effect.
The user agreement also made clear that the payment will recur each month if you do not cancel it.
Additionally, when you login to the Spotify website and click “Subscription”, it states that you have a recurring payment which can be cancelled.
If you would like to stop the recurring payments, you can do this on your subscription page.
