I second what dhamit said. Good idea to get more premium members but what about us premium paying people who have been paying since Spotify went mobile?

What a bunch of whiners! You obviously already see enough value in Spotify to pay for the service. They are trying to convince others of that value through a free trial. Did you complain when your iPad 1 went down in price when the second one came out? Did you demand they give you a refund of the difference because they dared to lower the price a year later? Same thing, different context.
ddpedersen - that is a terrible analogy and you are an idiot. The ipad 1 dropped in price because it became outdated. Spotify's product is exactly the same but now free to try.
ddpederson, you need to understand all of the facts before you judge us: After being given a trial of Spotify Unlimited (only available on your computer), most of us found it worth paying $4.99/month to get rid of the ads. Why wouldn't they want to increase revenue by offering Spotify Premium (access on your mobile) in the same manner to those of us still deciding whether to step up to the $9.99/month service? It seems like a marketing no-brainer since they were willing to do it before... Unless they are only extending this to brand new users with the plan to increase EVERYBODY'S costs in the near future.
Yeah, I was going to try this, and maybe get hooked on the mobile app but it wanted a credit card up front...... No thanks, I'll stick to streaming my library from Google Music!
Stop whinging, Spotify is AMAZING. Every one should give the 30 day trial a go and discover how good it is, I would never go back to the free version best £10 I spend each month, it's worth every penny.

My god what a bunch of babies! If you don't want it mobile, then don't get it. If something else works better, then fine! However, just because you are lazy and don't want to forget to cancel before it charges your card (which is probably either a totally empty debit card or maxed out credit card from the sounds of it) it isn't cause for you to whine. Spotify is a pretty dang nice service and worth paying for if you are going to use it frequently. I found that I only used it when I was at my desk, so no need to pay for premium. I can live with ads since I'm not one of the prissy wuss babies born with iPods sticking out of their asses. So grow up and stop whining. Go out there on the internet and show me a service that doesn't ask for your card up front even when there is a trial. Netflix even does it. EVERYBODY does it. Get a clue...
I have been charged for a premium membership for 3 months. 2 of those months I have not been able to find my playlist or to search for new music. I have been sent a playlist they say is mine but I cannot copy and paste. I only get an error code 404. I have not been able to find ANY phone numbers to the inadequate responses I get are not timely or helpful. I am going to have to cancel if I cannot use my service.

I was excited when I saw the advert in Spotify for the 30 day free trial. Clicked on it to take you guys up on the offer. Typed in my password... and boom. "This trial offer is not available for you." I've been an Unlimited member before. This could have been a great opportunity to convince me to go Premium. It's ok guys, I understand that disrupting your Unlimited cashflow for a month might frighten your beancounters. But you missed out on some reward for your risk, shows that you care most about our wallets, and this leaves a sour taste with me. All in all, thanks for the Christmas present of dashed hopes.
A follow-up on my previous posting. I've discovered that there's no good way I can get to the trial by creating a new account, because of this new Facebook requirement. When did this happen? Do you realize that this allows Facebook to dictate people's access to Spotify? What has happened to you, Spotify?

Jesus ! what do you actually get for £10, a music newspaper ?...Spotify offers you millions and millions of fantastic music tracks. Stop whining about the cost. Spotify changed the way i listen to music. Now my whole collection can be used as playlist to my phone or mediaplayer everywhere in the world. Legally !!!!
But Skivgrisen, it's funny how you ignores those who don't have the possibility to pay for that. By that my parrents wont allow me to buy it. Also, I got happy by seeing that they offered a 30 day trial, so I thought: Hey.. I guess I have to register my creditcard as they wanted me to do on the 7 day trial, and that's WAY OUT OF MY OPINIOM as I am not allowed to steal my parents card to do such. And yeah, I had to. Spotify say they are for all... Correction: Spotify are for all those who have nice parents, rich or grown up enought to be able to take this choice by themself.
Yet another sad downgrade in the radio app. Before the forced facebook crap you were able to select multiple genres and decades and actually DISCOVER some NEW music. All of that is gone and now the whole radio page is filled with useless junk about artists in my playlists that I either already know about or can easily find on demand by using the "related artists" function. And the genre/decade selection buttons don't offer any combinations resulting in a useless stream of stuff 99% of which I couldn't care less. Seriosly guys, who designs these "improvements"?
And yet some more ignorant decisions about the privacy of your customers. "Private session" is still not a saved preference and after installing the new versions new sharing options are on by default without even a polite question. You are seriously beginning to seem like another facebook forcefully shoving shit to your customers. The only difference is that I'm paying you for this service.

i hate the new spotify
I was going to try this, so i did. The day after i could'nt hear my songs offline. And they say that I can cancel the trial. but i can't. I followed the instructions, but I still could not cancel it. And now i have to pay for this, when I have not listen to any music!! wtf.
There is so much to love about Spotify but there is this one thing that I HATE and just can't understand...that you can't sort your music on the mobile client. I really need to look at some competitive offerings. This is really beyond irritating...it's just plain stupid.

I saw this offer late yesterday evening. Today I downloaded Skype to my mobile and now with credit card in my palm I wanted to make a 30-day trial premium subscription. But it was gone! So this offer was available for 4 days only???
I have to make a correction: I found the link to free trial now from this blog and after giving Visa-info the Premium started to work. both on computer and my Nokia mobile.
I have arranged to become a Virgin customer at the end of the month, I shall be entittled to Spotify Premium very soon so what do I do to get it now, is their anyway I can open an account now without giving my debit card number.

I like Spotify... I really do. That's why I agreed to give you guys $60 per year. However, I think Spotify is wrong to ask those of us who use Sonos systems to give them an extra $5 per month for that privilege. If you want to charge $5 extra so somebody can run Spotify in offline mode or on their mobile phone, I get that. They're asking to actually download tracks and they're adding another receiving device to the mix. But there is no "mobile", no "offline", and no requirement for "enhanced sound quality" to operate Sonos. Like most users, my Sonos AND Spotify icons sit right next to each other on my iMac desktop -- it's not even a separate platform. I think the Spotify service is genius but charging a paying user DOUBLE just so they can use Sonos seems unwarranted. Neither Apple nor Pandora charge anything extra for a user to access paid subscriptions via Sonos -- how does Spotify justify it?
When are us founding users going to be rewarded for our loyalty? I wouldn't mind being given a month of premium free.

Tengo una duda sobre Spotify Premium...como se pueden sincronizar canciones del modo offline en tres dispositivos ¿Qué ocurre cuando cambiamos de ordenador o de móvil? bastaría con desinstalar el programa en esos dispositivos para que no "cuenten" como dispositivos con modo offline? Ahora mismo lo tengo en dos portátiles (el personal y el del trabajo) y como voy a cambiar los dos, temo quedarme sin una de las licencias al tener sólo 3 dispositivos con modo offline. Gracias!
Hoy he realizado una compra y no se han descargado las canciones, lo hice desde Windows XP, de hecho en mi pantalla de Spotify indica 10 canciones descargadas pero no aparecen por ninguna parte. Ya me pasó en Junio en una descarga individual que supuse perdida por hacerla desde la versión Linux. Ustedes podrían comprobar que la descarga no ha tenido lugar. No entiendo que sí se haya realizado el pago antes de haber recibido el OK. Aquí les pego la lista de mis pagos como usuario Premium. Went to oakland california to visit my daughter for xmas and she told me about Spotify so I signed up. Got back to the UK and went to upgrade and my credit cards wouldn't work ... thought hmm ... Spotify USA ? UK? and sure enough ... so looked at UK Premium ... and guess what? To upgrade in the states it's £6.45 but here £9.99. Another examples of Brits fleecing one another ... why I got 2 pairs of Levis in California for £60 ... in London ? About £90 each. Nasty. Typical.
Oh, And in the states radio mode is free.
I get regular ads for the 30 day trial, click on them, confirm with my password and get "You're not eligible for this offer". No further explanation. Not cool, and very annoying.
