It’s a Happy Wednesday for our Android users! We have just released a new Preview version that adds Facebook sign-in into the mix. The update will also enable Facebook sharing and, for those moments when you don’t want to share what your guilty musical pleasures, a Private listening mode. You can simply activate Private mode from your settings.

If you’re new to Spotify, first-time users will now be able to log in and create an account with Facebook credentials.

In order to install you must set your phone to allow installation from “Unknown Sources” by going to the Settings > Applications > Unknown sources menu. Once that’s done, you can then download the file to your Android phone.

We’re excited today to announce our first preview release of Spotify for BlackBerry. As our sixth mobile app, BlackBerry comes packed with great features to keep you listening to your favourite music wherever you are.

Features included in this release are:

• Million of songs available instantly on your BlackBerry.
• Offline playlists – listen to music with no mobile connection and avoid using your data allowance
• Create and sync playlists
• Star your favourite tracks
• Search tracks, artists, album
• Browse “What’s new” and “Top tracks”
• Scrobble tracks to Last.fm
• Receive music from friends via the inbox

As with all Spotify Mobile apps, a Premium subscription is required in order to stream songs from our catalogue.

We’ve tested our app on the following devices: 9780 Bold, 9700 Bold, 9300 Curve, 9000 Bold, 8520 Curve. Currently the app only supports phones running on GSM networks. CDMA-network phones and Torch 9800 are not currently compatible.

The app is available now as a preview for those of you who want to give it an early try and as soon as we have a final, fully tested version we’ll release it to the App World. Enjoy!

For those of you who don’t know about Boxee yet, it’s a great device that finds many of your favorite shows and movies on the Internet and puts them on your TV. Now you can add music to that list.

Thanks to the custom Boxee app, it’s never been easier for Premium subscribers to enjoy on-demand access to Spotify’s vast music catalogue directly on their TV.

We’re excited to announce that Spotify users will the first to get their hands on Habits of the Heart from Idle Warship. A collaboration between hip-hop luminary Talib Kweli and critically acclaimed soulful singer and songwriter Res, Idle Warship is a genre-bending musical project born out of sheer experimentation and unbridled creative expression.

Offering a hybrid of influences - flashes of soul, hip-hop, rock, alternative and electronic - Habits of the Heart features guest spots from Jean Grae, Jay Knocka, Chester French, Michelle Williams and John Forte.

The 12-track album, the group’s first official collection of songs, is now streaming in its entirety on Spotify. This exciting partnership marks the first time that Spotify U.S. has debuted an album weeks ahead of its release date, scheduled for November 1st.
