Power Up with Playlists

Simply put, a playlist is a collection of tracks grouped together and saved for easy access. The modern day mix tape, you can create a playlist for anywhere and anytime! Whip up some tuneful inspiration for your road trips, workouts, or even workdays. Get started by clicking on the “+New Playlist” in the left column. A single playlist can store up to 10,000 tracks, if you have the time or inclination.

With Spotify, compiling playlists is as easy as drag and drop. Just click on the song you like and drag it into your playlist! Each new playlist is saved to your account, and will be accessible from wherever you use Spotify.

Best yet, you can share your playlists with friends. With a simple right click (or control click for Mac), you can post playlists to your social sites and share your tunes with friends.

Stay tuned for our next post where we’ll go into more detail about sharing and collaborating on playlists.

It would be great to have some sort of built in playlist generation or a radio station feature for the US version

They have a radio station option. It's at the top

There is an "Artist Radio" tab when you click on a specific artist/band. This gives you a playlist of both the artists songs, and related artists as well.

I really wanna know more about collaborations! As well as how to read the little snipets that show up on certain playlists! I can never figure out how to read the whole thing!

I want to know how to create a playlist from the iPhone App without crashing Spotify.

Just tried creating a playlist on my Android. Works perfectly. Answer, get an Android. :)

You can also use my automated service that adds tracks to a collaborative playlist, as you listen to music in Spotify. http://www.trushuffle.com :)

@visual0ne, that was fixed in an update that came out yesterday.

I agree that making playlists it's pretty quick and easy on spotify. I do have one question. Does anyone know how to sort playlists alphabetically? I have over 100 playlists and constantly adding more but I currently sort manually (click and drag. I rather just do one quick click of all my playlists. Thanks in advance.

One of my favorite itunes playlists is built off of ratings. I'd love to be able to do something like that in Spotify, but that would require... well, ratings.

Couple of things I'd like: ratings system, smart playlist, query builder for the search box (simple dropdown with options to build the query)...can't remember all the search options, genres, etc...

+1 to Thomas.vps. I use playlists extensively on desktop and Android and now have around 150 of them. My typical use case is to save albums I like to playlists - I wish there were some way to sort them alphabetically to make it easier to find stuff quickly.

Why am I have such a hard time figuring out the playlist and social feature? How do I search for people I may want to follow? How do I search for companies that are creating playlist like "spotifyusa" or "hospitalrecords"?

hey spotify! love the new service! are there future plans to add genre section to the tracks?? it would be a major sorting help. also any plans to be able to have spotify import itunes autoplaylists???? the autoplaylists aren't working in spotify ~Max

Ok, unwashed newbie here in need of help... How do I manually sort/order a playlist? I can on some playlists but not on others. Why?

Are the playlist folders not available in the US? i just downloaded the newest version and cannot find them. I'd love to be able to comment on friend's playlists. I would also like the ability to search by genre. A search by record label would be cool too. Great service so far, though.

can I burn a Spodify playlist to a CD

I'm new to the US version and when i look at the list of friends, i want to be able to see if their online and message them. This may be a good feature to add...

There's got to be a better way to access public playlists to find music. Since i only have a couple friends using spotify, it'd be helpful if there was a more intuitive way to access and view public playlists by genre or type.

I NEED to be able to alphabetize playlists - I'm going crazy trying to fine stuff!

HI, I am new to Spotify. I love it except it seems to be in service currently (every time I logged in today). I am not able to listen. I am frustrated. I would upgrade to Premium but so far have not been happy with the results of trying it out. (too many service messages "Can't play current track".

Agree with those who are dying for alphabetizing the playlists. This is such a BASIC functionality. You are telling us how great this product is - and it is - so we make tons of playlists, but you give us no way to organize them. PLEASE upgrade to allow alpha playlists.

+1.. Need alphabetical playlists.. Even better. Playlist categories. Another alternative is to add sorting in our library on the mobile app for those of us just adding full albums as playlists. I hate navigating through all the playlists to find an artist. This expects I remember about when I added the playlist. There's not a whole lot of logic there.
