Lady Gaga’s new album Born This Way to debut exclusively on Spotify

Lady Gaga’s hugely anticipated new album Born This Way will be released globally on Monday May 23. But starting next Wednesday May 18, Spotify Premium listeners in Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands, Finland and Spain will be able to hear the album in full, five whole days before its official release.

Starting today we are counting down to this pre-release stream by launching a competition that could see two lucky fans get up close and personal to Lady Gaga herself at an exclusive fan event in Paris this June. With flights and accommodation included, the Spotify winner will be on hand to see Lady Gaga perform tracks acoustically from Born This Way.

To enter for your chance to win, you’ll need to answer a daily Lady Gaga question - the answer to which will be a song - and submit the 5 songs to us in the form of a playlist. More information and full competition terms and conditions visit the competition page.

So all you little monsters out there - come back each day to see the new Lady Gaga question and get excited for Born This Way, available to listen in full on Spotify Premium next Wednesday May 18. And don’t forget - if you haven’t yet tried Spotify Premium, you can take the 7-day free trial now.

Is this the standard edition, special edition, or both? And how do I answer the questions?

Nevermind the last question, I figured it out now.

I don't think it's fair that only certain countries get these exclusives. It's adding another tier to premium users which we can't do nothing about!

bye bye spotify

Why isn't the UK getting this early?

We don't care if lady gaga's album it's on spotify. You guys have already destroyed spotify, and no one are using it anymore. Cuz of the tragic update, no one cares. Good luck with spotify. -.-

Give it a rest, poor people. There is no, and never has been any free lunches. Free users leaving only helps Spotify not go bankrupt, as I don't believe they can fully cover costs on the advertising alone. Premium users are the only ones who can do damage by leaving, but then again, for Premium users, Spotify is still Spotify. Enjoy your mislabeled low quality torrents, and filled hard drives. I'll enjoy my cloud music service, automatically synced to all my devices, online or offline, wherever in the world I am.

@noob-said-mjau - You assume this affects you, and the rest of the cheapskates unwilling to pay for content? "Spotify ------Premium------ listeners ... will be able to hear the album in full, five whole days before its official release."

Although... Yeah... Never mind that the UK accounted for ~20% of all album sales for The Fame... We don't care about her new album. We'll wait. ¬_¬

Get a life, guys. Spotify charges 10 euros por unlimited, all-you-eat use. It really means that if you want to use it non-stop 24 hours a day 30 days a month, if you want to build a library of ten million songs with a million playlists, you can. And you can have it in most internet-connected devices, instantly, anywhere, without wires or burning CDs or synching or anything. If you don't think it's worth the money, ok. But please stop flaming. This was a post about Lady Gaga - btw, another nice perk of paying 10 euros. The last REM album was also exclusive for about a week.

@ everyone who is taking on Spotify here: you're a bunch of pathetic losers. We're talking about 5/10 EU a month to listen unlimited and add-free music all day long, wherever you are!! There is no such thing as a free lunch. Accept that.

I think the reason it's not available in the UK is because the UK newspaper has a UK exclusive for this same thing from wednesday you'll be able to stream the album from metro.co.uk

Oh, @giovannicosta, you are a beautiful person...! Guess where I'll be on the 18th! All the same, how does a free newspaper manage to win exclusive rights to streaming an album... Over a music streaming service... D: Silly Gaga.

@jan__ You missed the part where some of us WANT the blipping ads :) It's part of our daily repertoire. And if possible, real ads, not self-promotion :)

6 månader Spotify Premium & 60 dagar WiMP @ www.spotifypremium.eu

If you are not able to pay just 10€ per month for all your music, then you don't like music... you just don't care about it and THAT'S the main problem... if you don't pay that, do you think you will be able to pay for a full album physical or digital? Come on... ... Anyway, thanks Spotify for keep doing actions like that, giving extra value to the users who really appreciate music.

Where is the album :'( It's over 00.00 now!

I can't believe UK listeners don't get to hear this!! Even though I'm a premium member... very disappointing.
