Sunday Times (London) columnist and founder of the irreverent, independent-music-loving community DrownedinSound.com, Sean Adams returns with a selection of playlists filled with a mixture of names ranging from Kate Bush, TV on the Radio, Friendly Fires, Sufjan Stevens and Justice to somewhat lesser knowns like EMA, The Antlers and Braids…
High on anti-histamine I’ve been compiling a few playlists for the month that was and the festivals that are to come…
This month’s playlist is 2hours crammed full of recent singles and albums that the DiS writers and readers have been loving. April was an incredible month for music, ranging from the sprawling glacial guitars of Jeniferever and Explosions in the Sky to Hauschka’s ‘prepared pianos’ which teether somewhere near dance music territory via Atari Teenage Riot’s raaah and Kate Bush’s reworking of her classic ‘Deeper Understanding’, which was written back in the very early days of the internet. And rather than moan about Spotify charging (Sheesh people! You can’t even buy two pints in London for what it costs for access to unlimited music!), please share with me what you’ve been loving this month, new or old, in the comments section below or @drownedinsound on Twitter.
