This morning our friends at Sonos, the wireless music system experts, released an update to their software which includes the much-anticipated Spotify integration that we announced earlier this month. This means that the entire Spotify catalogue, including all your playlists, can now be heard through any Sonos system!
If you’re an existing Sonos user all you need to do is to get Spotify Premium to access our entire catalogue in any room of your home. If you’re an existing Spotify Premium user and considering fixing up your pad with a superb wireless multi-room audio solution, Sonos has a variety of superb music players to choose from. Note: Spotify is temporarily unavailable from the Sonos iPhone Controller until an update is published on the App store. The Sonos App is currently pending approval.

I've been visiting the download area at sonos several times a day since the news that there should be an integration. And finally it's here... I never thought this dream would come true, but I'm grateful that you proved me wrong. I love Sonos and Spotify even more as a couple. :-)

Great and Thanks. The new Sonos Ipad App is awesome. BUT the Iphone App on Sonos is not working correctly with Spotify, you can not select a song, you have to select the whole list. Please fix and inform Sonos.
The Sonos iPhone controller doesn't work with Spotify yet because it is awaiting Apple Appstore approval. As soon as Sonos get the approval, we should get it.
Is it better to have Napster at £5 pm or Spotify at £10 pm Sonos. I seem to get all i need on napster or am I missing something?

I contstantly lose conection to spotify. Do not know if the problem comes from Sonos or from the Spotify server. But if I use the spotify on my computer without Sonos works as usual. The problem is through the Sonos controller.
I am a premium subscriber and tried to register my Spotify account and Sonos just said "can't add your account, you must be a premium subscriber", oh well, nice idea but doesn't actually work yet.

I keep on losing connection to spotify as well.. and searching is way too slow. the idea is great, but please sonos.. solve this! @Rolandsannicolo: there is an update function in your iphone sonos app under settings.
yup - speed & connection issues here as well. Only via Sonos, PC app is fine.
had a problem logging on from Sonos even though PC connection was working fine. Just tried again and it's now working fine.

For travellers which may often spend time abroad at an alternate location, will the music abroad function work if sonos is set up at that alternate location?
Working fine here on the controller but Iphone a bit glitchy. Have to say the sound quality is fabulous compared to Napster & Itunes. Very happy here :-)

In Sonos, (using Ipod as controller) when I select Spotify in the music menu all I get is the word "Search" and "Starred" which then takes me though to equally basic options, "Artist" "Album", "Tracks" is this all I can expect? What about selection by genres, top lists etc and all the other richer functionality? Am I doing something wrong here or is this it?
I'd love to see Spotify support UPNP in general. I should be able to run Spotify on my PC and then stream it to the player under my TV.
Please support the Squeezebox family with a native app ... I for one would return as a subscriber!
5 minutes to update all of the Sonos units in my house, from one click on the desktop controller, whilst I downloaded the Sonos for iPad App and now have the perfect system for my needs. PS: stosh - whilst Napster has a good library, it's PC interface is appalling and accessing from Sonos is not much better, unless you just want to search for a track or album there and then. I have been using Spotify since it was released and the fact that all of my family have their own playlists and iPhone access means that it has effectively replaced our (extensive) CD collection (which is all ripped to a central server anyway). I will keep Napster for a few months, but am unlikely to continue using it, unless they improve access to their library with Apps etc.

I definitely need "Top Lists" or "Whats new" or Top 100 etc like Napster on Sonos so I can generate and listen to new music. The streaming quality is far superior so now I just need more options on the controller rather than just search!

Still got a problem getting music to stream via Sonos to my hi-fi. Sonos system set up and now updated - radio and music from my hard drive all play OK but the Spotify takes a long time to find a recording (trying to work via the Sonos controller) and then says it cannot play it - experiencing problems which are still not resolved. Wouldn't work last night (29th) and at 5.00pm tonight (30th) still experiencing the problem. I've just signed up to Spotify Premium and I am not getting the full service - I joined for the Sonos facility. Please advise when this will be resolved. Thank you.

Spotify is not working reliably with sonos at all. Worked fine yesterday. It's not a connection problem. I can log out from sonos and in with my regular computer and everything works fine. I have a premium account and went out and bough a sonos system when I heard the spotify announcment. Here's what happens Spotify on regular computer = works fine Spotify + sonos = worked yesterday but only for a few minutes at a time today Sonos + internet radio = works fine Funny it worked yesterday but not today - are you overloaded? Timeing problems with more users? Shame really - I've wanted music on demand for twenty years and now it's come - teething problems I hope

Very poor implementation on Sonos. I bought a premium subscription, which I now wish I hadn't. The iPhone App doesn't work for Sonos. I have Napster which is very quick, but the Spotify indexing must be very poor as searches take much longer. I keep getting error messages tat the connection to Spotify has dropped. The only playlists are "radio stations". But these are very limited on the Sonos implementation. It's difficult to make a track, albumn or artist a favourite within the Sonos implementation. I LOVE my Sonos system with 8 zones and a portable S5 unit, but Spotify (in it's current implementation), is one of the weakest elements. If this is not impoved within 10 more days, I will take advantage of the "cooling off period" and cancel my subscription. If I do, I'll lok again in 6 months.

@r1200gsapilot - there is an update to the Sonos iPhone app this morning that now fully supports Spotify. Additionally, the issues with slow streaming should be much improved now, please let us know if you still have streaming issues.
Still having problems streaming, it plays 5 seconds of a tune before giving up. Works fine every now and then.
And now it is working perfectly from my iPhone. :-) Totally awesome!

had some problems hooking up after starting my premium subscription today, but got it working from the desktop controller. :-) however, sound quality is ok but not all that impressive. at what bitrate does the music stream from spotify to my sonos player?
No use to me. I subscribed to Spotify premium (UK) on the basis that it connects to my Sonos unit. I thought Happy Days, as I can listen to different music from Spotify on my stereo system other than I have on my i-tunes folder. However it does not want to "talk" with my Sonos system as it is in my apartment in Austria. Seems there are conditions for what country you are in ...despite what Spotify states about it being "transportable. I now have to listen to Spotify in my office rather than in the comfort of my living room :-(

So if I understand you correctly, you can only get Spotify on Sonos if you are a Spotify Premium customer?
I don't need my music on the go (mobile). I just want streaming music to my Sonos system but Spotify ends up being twice the price of Napster for this same capability. Unless this changes I will not be changing over to Spotify.
