An update to Spotify for Symbian

We’re releasing an update to Spotify for Symbian. Version 0.3.23 (64201) can be downloaded from www.spotify.com.

Along with several bug fixes this release includes:

  • 4 new devices are now supported: Nokia X6, Nokia 6760 slide, Nokia 6700 slide, Nokia E55 and the newly announced Sony Ericsson Vivaz.
  • Text input on touchscreen devices has been rewritten. Supports special/unusual characters and hardware qwerty keyboards.
  • Text input optimizations.
  • Seeking on non-touchscreen devices is now much faster.

Great, thanks!

This is great news, do we have any news on a Blackberry compatible version though :(... I really want to get full benefit out of the £10 I am spending a month but I have a while before I can upgrade yet.

Still no scrobbling!? :(

I hope that Spotify for Maemo (Nokia N900) will be available soon as well.

can't you make it available for the OS for Samsung ?

Still got problems with missing album art on offline tracks, will later test if the player still cuts the last second of them. A bit/lot disappointed by the lack of scrobbling (with offline queueing), but it's nice that the mobile client is evolving...

Nice - but, I'm afraid the lack of scrobbling (with offline queueing) is a 100% showstopper for me. :/ Really looking forward to the day you have that fixed! :)

Great to see the app evolving but a big shame that this fix doesn't address the bug with being able to use the app in landscape mode on the N97 and other similar rotation based devices.

What about a client for Maemo 5? :(

When last.fm scrobbling will be supported?

Similar to "failedmuso" I was hoping that the there would be better support for the N97 and landscape mode.

Cheers for improving the text input! On the n900 even just an arm build of libspotify would be cool.

lg ku990i viewty on spotify

Love the new way to search :) It was so annoying when my search term just dissapered when I selected it. But, as the others say, you have to fix the "self-deleting" album arts. And an queue function would be nice :) Thanks again for your awsome software and ideas!

"Text input on touchscreen devices has been rewritten." This is nice, of course, but perhaps you could have done it properly while you were at it? You see, touchscreen devices quite often support full-qwerty (and other input methods), but right now it's forced to numeric-keypad-only, even though it uses the native input. It's still great, of course, but I did have a "yey, they fixed my main complaint - no, wait they did not" -moment just now. Here's to hoping full-qwerty will make it into the next release! Keep up the good work!

Not working properly on my E72 upgraded with the latest firmware. After download (from the mobile web page) and when installing it says that the application is not compatible with the phone. When installed the application only covers half the screen (some sort of portrait mode). Just so that you know...

Thanks for the text input support, much more convenient with the full screen QWERTY on my Samsung i8910. But there's still the annoying bug where you can only turn the volume down so far before it cuts off.

The application could do with a couple of improvements. 1, Could we have an onscreen indication of volume level. 2, Could we have support for Destinations on Nokia phones. Thanks

Nokia N900 why dont it work

Here's one more vote for adding support for Nokia N900.

Anybody knows if there are any plans to release Spotify for Blackberry????

Watch this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dz7DhPnjds

Yeah yeah yeah. Symbian, Android, iPhone whatever. What about supporting the $&^%£ Blackberry already? Srsly.

Spotify.. I'm still waiting for you to create an app for Windows Mobile!!

N900 / Maemo 5 please!

Windows Mobile? när kommer ni med det? skiter ni i era betalande kunder?

Please make it possible to listen to the song Welcome to Creepschool with Creepcrew! Please! Thanks from Sandra! :)

Why do you have to have an invitation to get Spotify free? Spotify free should be used by everyone!

Can you make it possible to listen to the album One-X bu Three Days Grace? ! Please! Thanks from Håkon.

What about win mobile?!

Could you guys please add a equalizer for Spotify? The normal sound is kinda boring and not being able to edit it.

E90 no longer gets screwed when flipping the lid, a step for the better. Closed lid volume control still wanted.

when will spotify work with windows mobile ? i have an htc hd, all my friends with the wretched sony ericssons got spotify but not me..

Check iy out! Spanish rock rocks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQlj3V4fv0s

Maemo / N900 please. Offline mode would be lovely :)

this might not have anything to do with this but, Usher has a new album and i wounder when you are gonna put it into spotify?

hello i m like Spotify

I like Spotify, but I would LOVE it if you had support for Win Mobile, and would DEFINITELY become a premium subscriber!

Please update the iPhone and PC clients!

I have a Nokia 8500 Xpress Music and the new search feature don´t work as expected. The alpha-numeric pad works fine, but all the querty's options dissapear in the main screen and appears to be working on the back. I don't know if I'm explaining myself properly (bad english).

I'll add to the voices requesting scrobbling to Last.fm, that would be great! And what about a Squeezebox app for playing spotify-streams? You would double your customerbase with those two additions!

Why won't you focus on making a Linux native client? GNU/Linux is the 3. most used OS on a computer. And no, it don't work fine under Wine. It is highly unstable.

Make spotify for Sony Ericsson Aino U10

@petezafase: It's rock solid for me under Wine. So stop complaining - they do not see the market for a native Linux version yet, perhaps rightfully so. Also, seeing the pace they are working at, even if they DID port Spotify to Linux, it would have taken them several years. Just look at scrobbling: It took them a year to implement in the Windows/Mac client. Now it's been half a year since the release of the iPhone/Android port - and still no scrobbling. Remind you (myself being a programmer) this takes 300 lines of code. It would have taken me a day of coding and testing - even if I knew nothing about the Last.fm API or Spotify. So, no, don't expect any Linux client any time soon. Or scrobbling for that matter.

Add Four Year Strongs new album Eternal Summer to Spotify!

I will seriously think of buying premium if you guys could work on spotify for older phone models than just the newest ones. i have a Sony Ericsson w595 and a w715, and neither of them is supported by your mobile platform. i bet you will get more customers when you will add older models to the list of supportness

I have the same problems that anders8027 i having. My phone is a Nokia E72 latest firmware. Is there anybody that don`t have these problems on this phone?

hooka "studenter på flak" pronto till spotify annars kommer jag efter er med kniv!

Another vote for N900 support please!!!!! Also, N97 screen rotation would be great (I have both these phones) as well as the support for Destinations rather than direct access point selection. One other thing I find quite annoying is the 'red' end call button closes the app, I would rather this minimized (or put the option for this behaviour in the settings), this is definately possible as other Symbian apps can minimize on this button push. Other than that - I love Spotify :)

I would like an "repeat one song" option. I know i shouldnt listen to only one song when i have all the songs ever made in my pocket, but once in a while i just feel like listening to a song over and over again. (this goes for the desktop version as well)
