A few weeks ago we gave you a sneak preview of the Spotify app for the iPhone, one of the special projects we’ve been pouring ourselves into as we look to give our users the ability to listen to all of our music on the move.
We’re now thrilled to let you know that the lovely people at Apple have given our mobile app a big thumbs up, meaning that our Premium subscribers in the UK, Sweden, France, Spain, Norway and Finland will be able to download Spotify for free from the App Store soon.
Spotify on the iPhone will include many of the features our users enjoy on the desktop, with the added advantage of letting you listen to your playlists even when you haven’t got a network connection, for instance when on a plane or the underground. We’ll be sure to let you know here on the blog as soon as it’s in the App Store.

As soon as the iphone version is out, basically the arguments you made against droidify becomes invalid, as you then have deals with the recordlabels? If so, welcome back droidify :)
That's great, I'll be tempted to upgrade to premium for this. Although I don't understand why there's this delay between approval and the app being on the actual store - I've never encountered that as a developer.

I am a premium subscriber in the Netherlands. Am I going to be left out for the iPhone and, more importantly, Android applications? Are all people who are registered premium users in countries where Spotify decided to take down registration but still allow old fans to support them?

By pure coincidence i was just reading the o2 Web & Wifi T&C's (as you do) and it says: "You may not use your SIM Card in any device to allow the continuous streaming of any audio / video content, enable P2P or file sharing or use them in such a way that adversely impacts the service to other O2 customers." So does using Spotify fall into this category? I'd imagine it does if you're using it over Web, not wifi. Will the app work like Skype in that it's wifi only?

awesome news. i have a premium account and live in germany. why dont you release the app in more countrys? so i need to build a account for the uk itunes store... please think about this fact. you have a big fanbase in germany and other countrys too.

Dont worry; anything that is "wifi only" can be easily tricked into thinking that it is on wifi, even when the connection is only 3g (after jailbreaking) Although I presume that the offline playlist feature will minimise the need to do that!
