We’ve also made a small change to the regional top lists so that they now show the top 100 artists, albums and tracks in each country, up from the previous 10 results. However, this change does not apply to your personal top list.

The indie sensation, Jack Peñate, has been hard at work after his debut album, Matinée, stormed the charts in 2007. His brand new release, Everything Is New, is out on June 22nd but starting today Spotify Premium subscribers in the UK can listen to it in its entirety.
To get a taste of the new album check out the single, Tonight’s Today, then head over and register a premium account to listen to the full album.
The American garage rock band Gossip have a new album out later this month. Music for Men is the follow up to their highly successful 2006 album, Standing in the Way of Control, and starting now Spotify Premium subscribers in Sweden, Norway and Finland can listen to it a week before its release.
It’s been a particularly cold and rainy weekend here we hope so we can lighten the mood a bit with some great new music and a big update. We’ve added 8,367 albums and singles today, in total 90,513 new tracks are now available.
A lot of today’s update independent music from CD Baby, some highlights and new releases include:
For a full listing of today’s additions please have a look at the Google documents, there are two of them because of the size of the update, one sorted by artist and one by label. As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions.
Here’s a little feature that you may not know about. You can link directly to a specific time in a track by adding, for example “#1:31″ to the end of a URI, where 1:31 is the time you want to link to. Just a note that this feature only works with Spotify URIs, HTTP links do not support it.
Here’s a full example, spotify:track:2QO8cnnFW6khDuAuUAySeV#3:04 will link to what I think is the best part of this song.
So if you’ve ever wanted to send your friend a track so he could hear only the great guitar riff or fabulous chorus, now you can.
Update: As I’ve mentioned earlier, you learn something new every day. A user points out in the comments that this feature does work with HTTP links if you use “%23″ in place of the “#” symbol. So my example would look like this: http://www.spotify.com/track/2QO8cnnFW6khDuAuUAySeV%233:04. Thanks for the tip ditech!
Manic Street Preachers released Journal For Plague Lovers earlier this year to critical acclaim. They’ve been quoted on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show as saying that no singles will be released for the album. However, they are releasing a number of remixes which are available to Spotify Premium users in the UK starting today.
Journal For Plague Lovers Remixes E.P. features remixes by artists such as British Sea Power and Adem. So move a little Faster and sign up for premium today to check out these great remixes.
Just a small little update to let you know about. We’ve added 307 albums and singles today, in total 3,640 new tracks are now available.
A highlights from this update is the new Sonic Youth album, The Eternal, which was released earlier this week.
For a full listing of today’s additions please have a look at the Google Doc. As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions.
Today we have a couple of great pre-release singles from Jenny Wilson for Spotify Premium users in the UK, Sweden, Finland and Norway.
Jenny Wilson’s latest album, Hardships!, was praised in the press when released earlier this year. Her new single, Anchor Made Of Gold/The Warning Shot, includes the album version of the song, a remix by First Floor Power-member Sara Wilson and a couple of bonus tracks.
Also available is Like A Fading Rainbow, which includes two remixes by Van Rivers (who has remixed for Fever Ray and Lykke Li, among others).
