It’s a sad day for music, the King of Pop has moon walked for the final time. Michael Jackson passed away last night and like many of you, we’ve dedicated today’s office playlist to the huge number of hits he’s had. His 1982 album, Thriller, is unforgettable to those of us who grew up in the 80s and the very first song ever played on the Mac OS version of Spotify was a track by Michael & Paul.
Rest in peace MJ.

May he rest in peace. He has really earned the title King of Pop. He will be remembered by everyone. And never forgotten R.I.P
Sympa à vous King of Pop, mais c'est pas disponible sur Spotify pour la France les copains ! Cool quand même ;)
Bye MJ ! @jmgall : c'est dispo -> spotify:artist:3fMbdgg4jU18AjLCKBhRSm
His "Dangerous" was the first CD I had...around '92. I consider him the first artist in my career as a music lover.
I like many have been brought up on the music of Michael Jackson and with the news last night from the US I am shocked and dare I say sad that a pop icon & legend of the last 30 years has gone. I have sometimes wondered what my parents and grandparents felt when people like Elvis and Chuck Berry pass way well I am now only starting to understand. Although I have never met Michael Jackson in person I did for a few moment catch sight of him when he performed in my home city of Leeds in Roundhay Park. He was amazing performer and from my point of view the world is going to feel a little bit more lonely without Michael Jackson and his music.
I will never forgett him, the strongest memory I have is from his live concert in Sweden > Gothenburg in 1997. There will never ever be a second king of pop. R.i.P Michael, you will never be forgotten.
Yes, let us honor his memory by releasing the Androind client for Spotify, it's what Michael would have wanted... But seriously, damn shame.
Rest in peace micheal :) !!! <3

In a way I'm glad it happened as quickly as it did. For those who didn't witness the twitter storm last night, the basic chain of events were: TMZ reporting MJ dead. A couple of mags (including BBC) reposting what at the time was a rumor. LA Times didn't want to publish anything until they had a solid source. A few minutes later, LA Times said MJ was in a coma, followed by another post a few minutes later saying he was dead. The above took 5-10 minutes all in all. A prolonged death (i.e., the coma) would've made sure our beloved TV networks would turn it all into a far-from-dignified media orgy. I hope the broadcasts tonight are of the good kind that celebrate the person and his accomplishments, rather than the abusive family, pedophilia charges, and financial issues. With that said, it's still sad to see him go, as he truly was the king of pop.
Eternal kudos MJ! Thank you for everything you gave us... Thank you for being music backup at my sexual debute :-)
Thanks for the playlist and big thanks to MJ for the music.
The last great pop icon is dead but his music will live on, rest in peace Moonwalker. Le Roi est mort, vive le Roi! (The king is dead, long live the king)
This track is currently not available in Finland... Thanks spotify.. R.I.P MJ
your playlist does suck a little bit, sorry. these two tracks are necessary spotify:user:massrally:playlist:7mRIZDElL7WuG7vwYf7rng
he had a talent for writing music and wil never be fogotten but my favourite is Ben then closely followed by Thriller
He has now transcended from the King of Pop to the God of Pop.
I'll bet everyone rememember where they were when the Thriller video premiered. R.I.P. MJ.
RIP. The fact that is was in the news all over the world 5min after TMZ posted about it shows how big he was.
"I have sometimes wondered what my parents and grandparents felt when people like Elvis and Chuck Berry pass way well I am now only starting to understand." Hey hey, don't be killing off Chuck Berry yet! He is still very much alive and kicking! ;)
I *REALLY* want to know stats on the increase of the listening on Michael songs these days!

The first album I ever had was Bad on a casette, since then I eventually got into hard rock (thanks to Dirty Diana, Beat It and Give in to Me) and metal :-D I was saddened by his departure as a musician myself who was inspired by him and I have written a tribute in my own blog. http://atulsworld.wordpress.com/2009/06/26/how-michael-jackson-influenced-me/ Peace homies and RIP Michael, the world will miss the way you bonded it together through your music.
RIP MJ ! Tu resteras toujours dans nos mémoires ! Tu es le maître incontesté ! Bon vent ! Et merci pour tout ! ! ! Kink's
