Earlier this week Gustav, Ludde and Anders took the long flight across the pond to San Francisco. They went over to take part in Google I/O, a conference for Android developers. We thought that rather than just keeping what we demoed to the group who attended we’d share with everyone.
Now, just to be clear - this is simply a demo and very much still a work in progress. And to head off the inevitable questions, we don’t have any more details on when it will be available, etc except that you will need to be a paying subscriber in order to access Spotify on mobile . Also, this isn’t the only mobile app we’re working on, so stay tuned to this space for all sorts of cool stuff in the future.

Great! Youtube released mobile streaming software wayback and it was ok, hope spotify mobile to be perfect. Im looking forward to somekind of demo/beta-version for S60.

Absolutely amazing. The offline sync is brilliant; Last.fm on my iPod Touch falls down here, because I can't jog while listening to my playlists because I go out of wifi range. This app will make Spotify the centre of my music listening experience :) To echo the comments above (and, undoubtedly, below), wherever this app appears, I'll be jumping straight on it. And if it's subscriber-only... well, you just gained another subscriber.

Can't wait to test this as soon as it comes out! Are there any plans for offline enabling songs for the regular Spotify client? This would make traveling with my laptop a little less boring.

For long I have tolerated apple's ridiculous appstore rules, but if this app wont come to app store (if ever released) there is no doubt it will be the end of iPhone for me. Still lovin' spotify, more every day. Thumbs up!

Ooh! I will surely buy the iPhone version when it arrives! Ok då kommer min vardag att förändras från att lyssna från iPoden till att börja lyssna på all härlig musik från iPhonen via Spotify! Men snälla gör åtminstone en WIFI version av Spotify till iPhone där man INTE kan offline synca, och gör denna app GRATIS. Den som kostar kan ha Offline-syncen som bonus, yes? :D
origo Om den kommer till iPhonen kommer den säkert bara vara för WiFi och inte 3G, även om man önskar att den skulle vara det. För det andra kommer den inte att vara gratis. Möjligen kommer applikationen i sig vara gratis men du måste endå ha ett premium konto som kostar 99 kr / månad (detta gäller för ALLA spotify klienter för alla mobilplatformar).

I avoid all such kind of services, because they only cost money in the hell. Spotify on mobile phones is ridiculus, it will cost the consumer massive money, money that goes directly into the pocket of the mobile ISP, in addition the premium account cost. It'sn definitely not worth the cost to buy the favorite tracks individually on a music store that support mp3 format and then put them into your favorite standalone player and it will pay you MUCH.

Det lär du ångra när din första mobilräkning kommer, den kommer förmodligen att ligga på 200% av premium kostnaden, på grund av den datatrafik som spotify generar. Och dessa pengar går bara till operatörerna, inte till musikerna. Satsa på att köpa låtarna från en försäljare i MP3 format för några guldklövers (tior) och ladda ned den till din befintliga telefon/spelare, det kommer att sjukt mykcet billigare. Tro mig, gå INTE på operatörernas erbjudande, de har ofta SJUKT dåliga och dyra avtal.
drsounds Nej? Många operatörer har bra priser. Tex 90 kr i månaden för fri surf, det är inte alls speciellt dyrt och då får du göra exakt vad du vill och hur du vill och kan använda mobilen som mobiltbredband till datorn t ex. Bra skit!

@drsounds don't see any sense in that, fixed 3G deals start from 9,90e in Finland. Many people already have those fixed deals and using the 3G to access their mail and to surf on net. So don't see how using spotify will cost any more when you have a fixed package... About the Android, I just today started looking into Android SDK and tried some things with it. Then I thought, how would spotify look on Android? And couple hours later I see this blog post, funny :)

I am 100% sure that Apple wil not let you release an app in the app store, So my question is if you will be making one available for Jailbroken Iphones, infact I can imagine people Jailbreaking their Iphone just for this app
Or some out there needs to find a way of installing android onto the Iphone.
