The Spotify music catalogue

Our music catalogue contains millions and millions of tracks and albums. It’s so enormous, in fact, that it’d take you more than 80 years of non-stop listening just to get through it.

And that’s not counting the 10,000 new tracks we’re adding every day.

Something for everyone

The Spotify music catalogue features an incredible variety of music. You can listen to massive chart hits as well as little-known indie bands, and enjoy all musical genres and styles, from Bach to Björk.

So whatever style of music you’re in the mood for, Spotify will find it for you. Maybe a little R&B? Some hip hop? Or is it a jazz fusion day? The catalogue has everything you need.

Music is everywhere

Our dream is to have all the music in the world available instantly to everyone, wherever they are.

How do we do it?

It’s thanks to our relationship with record labels, publishers and collecting societies that we’re able to make so much music available. They send us music, we upload it to our servers and then make it available to everyone using Spotify.

Right now, we’re busy signing new deals all over the world. Each deal we sign brings more music flowing into Spotify.

The missing pieces

There are two main reasons why certain tracks or artists are not currently available on Spotify.

  1. Some artists have chosen not to make their music available for online streaming services like Spotify. We really hope that they change their minds in the future. As soon as they do, they’ll be very welcome here.
  2. Some artists have divided their rights between different record labels that cover different regions. This means their music will be available in Country A but not in Country B. This will become less of an issue as we sign more deals.
