Playlists

Manage the music just the way you want it.

Playlists are one of the cornerstones of the Spotify experience. There are numerous ways in which you can enjoy the playlist feature; build your own, subscribe to an existing playlist or why not build a playlist together with your friends?

If you are new to Spotify and need a playlist to get you started, feel free to add one of the playlists below:

Subscribe to an existing playlist

Feeling lazy? Subscribe to an existing playlist instead.

The easiest way to find new playlists are through your friends:
  • Click on any of your friends in your friend list.
  • Browse you friend’s playlists and click on the `Subscribe´ button on the playlists you think you may like. Take your time, play around.

Create playlist

With Spotify, it’s super-easy to make your own playlists.

Click ‘New Playlist’ in the left toolbar and give your playlist a name.

Other ways to create a new playlist:
  • Go to the File-menu and choose ‘New Playlist’
  • or, for keyboard shortcuts, choose ctrl + N (Windows) or cmd + N (Mac).

Adding tracks to your playlist

Once you’ve created your playlist, just drag and drop the tracks you want to include from the main window to your playlist.

You can also right-click on a track or album and choose ‘Add To…New Playlist’.

Collaborative playlists

You can create playlists with your friends on Spotify. We call them Collaborative playlists.

You and your friends can add or remove tracks as much as you like.

To create a collaborative playlist:
  • Just right-click your playlist and select ‘Collaborative Playlist’
  • Then either publish the playlist or share the URL with your collaborators.

The playlist will appear with a green icon and text, and will sync automatically between the different users adding to the playlist.
