We wanted to let everyone know that we’ve begun updating users to Spotify version 0.8.0. This is the latest Spotify release which includes both Spotify Apps and our new and improved Spotify Radio.
It will take a number of days to update all users. When your account is ready to be updated you’ll received a blue notice bar in Spotify asking you if to install and restart. You can also download the new update directly here.

Great update, guys! The new and improved radio app is amazing. Now all you have to do is bring the apps and new radio to mobile devices (insert iPad request here) and I'll become a VERY happy premium user. Keep up the great work.

Great! Buddlylist now shows music others listened to. Anyone know where you can see music YOU listened to that is shared with others?
What is noticable is the fact that fewer people now share their music on Spotify, I guess due to the mess with facebook, facebook feeds and so on.. Would love to see you put some effort into getting this more transparent for the user, and thereby getting more users into the sharing part, which I love! Saw the "On Spotify"-button, that helps now, hopefully more people will show up there!
Apps dont work for me on Windows 7 64-bit. Message "Sorry, I could not find this app". I'm not alone with this problem, see Getsatisfaction support forum. :(
Great app. I like the apps with this version. The only major drawback for this version is the lack of multiple radio genre selection. i use this a lot.. Keep up the good work!

This is such a great step to compete with Pandora ... I can almost get rid of my Pandora account now. Almost. The old version of Spotify radio allowed for selection of multiple genres in one radio setup ... this is great for a party where you want a variety of types of music. The new version seems to only allow selection of one genre or artist radio station at a time. Can this feature be added back in? Also, it would be amazing if we could call up a specific track on demand and drop it into the radio lineup without exiting the radio app. These features would make this app DESTROY pandora for user value.
I still think spotify has a long ways to go with the Radio. However I feel it will get there in time. It's just sad that spotify employees are not responding to people, it's sad. BRING BACK MULTIPLE GENRE SELECTION. How do we need to make this CLEAR.

Being able to listen to multiple genre selections was the only reason why I'm listening to Spotify and not Pandora. Why the hell do I need to do extra work and waste my time singling out artists? Why not be able to do both? Give me back my options or I will boycott music and movies!
I certainly cannot speak for everyone but the new "Buddy List" is terrible. Disabling the "spidering" of Facebook friends for Spotify is just short sighted in my opinion. Fix this Spotify!

Arrr... why is there no option to opt out of applying the update... I hate the way it searches (like google with predictive search)...I'm not bothered about facebook etc - Sorry but I love spotify the way it used to be before the update.
All app installs yield a green loading bar for ~15 seconds, followed by "Sorry, I could not download this app. Please try again later." on Win7 64-bit. Oh dear.

So now not only can you not filter the radio by decade like you used to be able to but now you can only have one genre at a time? Congratulations, you are gradually making that feature completely useless.
I love the apps. The new version did break the next & prvious skip buttons though it seems... (left and right from play button) They're always greyed out now.

I also think that the multi-genre radio functionality was one of the best features of the old radio system, any chance we can get it back?
all in all a good update, but did you REALLY have to change the inboxing system for it? When I send songs to my friends I do not wanting it spamming their facebook accounts oh and the links are broken when they reach my friends' inboxes, the inbox system before worked perfectly fine, you dropped the ball again spotify.
Any word on apps for the mobile clients? At least the Radio features? I'm in heaven otherwise :)
I agree. I just started using Spotify heavily the past 2 weeks and thought the multiple genre feature was absolutely perfect. I was just using it and the restart for update popped up so I figured I'd do it and go back to listening. Unfortunately the whole Radio feature was changed and I can only pick one genre or artist. This is severely disappointing. Being able to select an artist to find similar bands is nice but multi-genre Radio was absolutely perfect. There was no reason to remove it! Bring it back!

Don't like it at all! The new radio completely bummed me out when I re-installed Spotify on my new computer.. this is.. not at all what I want. I want to be able to select multiple genres and it used to work so well :( This I had on Artist radio bleh :( Please add the old radio function as an app if you absolutely have to stay on this junk.
Can I get this new update with the new radio on Mac OS Lion? Or do I have to uninstall/reinstall the entire program??
Getting rid of multi- genre selection was a mistake. I really enjoyed being able to listen to a wide variety of music with out having to touch the computer. Now I can only listen for a a half hour or so before I'm sick of the style. Bring it back please.

As said multiple times, give us back multi - genera listening! I use my laptop to play music at work, and with everyone liking different music, it was perfect! i could play country, 80's, rock, alt., singer/songwriter and it was awesome! now, have to constantly change it. I should just bring my external HD and play what I have on that. at least let us change back from this update....
Actually the option to select multiple genre music was the main reason for me to use Spotify. And practically the only upper hand for Spotify in comparison to the standard internet radios.

I'm sure they look over the blog / comments. Just like the other company they are falling into the same foot steps, no support, no responses. We mean nothing to them. I think if a lot of users got together walked out and left, canceled memberships and stopped logging into spotify. I guarantee they will listen because: No customers means no Investors and No Investors means no Spofity... and it's coming down to the point where I don't even care for spotify anymore. I can't use it like I used too, the employees are not doing their job, they wanted this company to be born, they must take on the responsibility of their job. It is just sad because this company has a lot of potential and all they are doing is throwing their own service down into the TRASH! Change your attitude Spotify or watch your userbase to fall and you end up with nothing.
Up next music videos? There is a Chrome app called musictonic for anyone who still uses YouTube to watch videos/listen (directly). Perhaps you should be looking very closely at what the creator has done.
