Get ready for an amazing radio experience. Unlimited stations, unlimited skips – that’s the new Spotify Radio.
You can be the DJ and skip between stations and tracks, or choose a station and just go with the flow. If you like what you hear, you can save the song to a playlist or play it again on demand.
To get started
Starting a radio station is easy. Click “Start Artist Radio” at the top of any artist page or just drag a track to “Radio” in the left sidebar. Spotify will make a radio station of similar music.
Then sit back. Or dance about. Your station will keep playing music based on your initial choice, it’s endless. And there’s no limit to the number of stations you can create.

Instead of having to skip tracks, I'd like to ban some from playing. Songs I never want to hear again. Can you do that for us?
How do you access the feature? I can't drag and drop songs in my version, and visually it doesn't look the same so I guess I'm not using the right version
i am spotify premiun from spain i love to see in my new version on my desktop i dont have app and now new spotify radio, :( i thinking next month closed my account. i dont want to pay for something i dont have.
People! I don't want to seem pedantic - but read the last paragraph: "We’ll be starting to roll out this brand new radio along with Spotify Apps in the next few days. Can’t wait? Then we have a preview version available for you here." Patience! I'm using the beta version and I have to say I'm very impressed.

Why not add right click option to playlist, and possibility to generate radio stations by playlist details? "Generate radio station".

don't forget the linux love! the preview build hasn't been upgraded since the facebook integration. both apps and an updated radio would be fun to try out (not to mention bug fixes)!

I love the new feature. Is there a plan to bring this to Google TV as well? I am eagerly awaiting Spotify on Google TV. Also, is there plans on making the Spotify App for Android available in landscape mode? That would be really nice to see. Thanks for the great work!

Thanks for the update. I love the Radio - it's first time I'm using it and found it very good so far.. Spotify Apps - that's just beyond excellent! Awesome!
I like the new radio, however I miss being able to choose multiple genres. Like we used to be able to select more then one radio station, kind of like a quick mix or a mix of what we would want to hear, and this new radio system doesn't provide this. I do hope by the time it rolls out this will be available, and working. I can't stand listening to just one genre.
Just tried the Radio feature and sadly it immediately FAILED my test. Dropping in "Cliffs of Dover" gave me vocal song (Wheezer) as a similar result. The great thing about Pandora is that starting a radio on an instrumental track will give you an instrumental radio station. Until Spotify manages the same, I'll stick with VPN+Pandora.
The radio loads just as fast as the rest of the program. my only problem with it is that it does not give the option for adding multiple artist to the station. and like Tom Klaver said, you do need to ban songs so you can keep on narrowing down your station. other than that, make sure you apply this feature to you Andriod App.

I'm a little confused. Was Spotify able to create stations prior to this beta release? Where is this feature at and why is it not more obvious? Was there a skip limit as well? I used the radio and skipped dozens of songs in a row (the radio never plays what I like). Was there a an old recommendation engine (I'll assume since I couldn't find the station feature I wasn't exposed to this)? I like the app, the zero-buffering is amazing (seriously, it's very impressive), but some more thought on intuitiveness would be nice.

Sounds a lot like Pandora's artist radio feature which is cool. I am very happy with my Premium account. The only thing I could ask for now is to work with GM and get Pandora off of my Intellink vehicle software and get Spotify on there!!!
Spotify on my new android phone, although is great, it keeps crashing all the time. You probably need to look into these smaller details. Common, Im paying 9.99 every month & the last thing I want is the app to crash like 5 times in 1 minute. duh.
I liked the fact that I could have a radio station based upon multiple genres, that doesn't seem to work anymore.. please bring it back! other then that the update is great!
Okay, loving the new Radio feature but.... 1. Repeats tracks way to quickly (say within 5 songs) 2. No way to ban artist, or song 3. Doesn't seem to notice that the track that's playing is already in my "starred" list Good start, keep refining it and you'll have a Slacker/Pandora killer!
I'm with silkyheads on this one.. My Spotify android app continually freezes and stops playing when I'm streaming on my 3g/4g signal.. This never happens on my other streaming music apps, maybe you guys want to take a page out of Pandora's book when it comes to that instead of blatantly ripping them off with this new Spotify "Radio" feature.

Hello. The preview version have got a bug while I playing music on the queue: I can't go to the next song. It's very irritating this problem.
Radio for mobile would be amazing! Let's get that going now. :) UK and and European customers have been asking for some time now. I figured I would get mobile radio when I signed up. Competitors have mobile radio. Don't make me switch ;)

It only runs once after installation, when I close and restart spotify it is the old version again

+1000 on the requests to restore multiple genres. That is a MUST HAVE feature that had me using Spotify exclusively. Don't send me back to all the other crappy options.

Am really liking the new radio but still there is to many repeats of the same artists. Spotify as a messive libery so surley it should always play something different and only play the artist chosen now and asgain not every 4 songs or so.

You need radio on your mobile app. We also need to be able to rate songs up or down. Basically you need to do what Pandora does..Until then you complement Pandora not replace it. Pandora is just like an awesome DJ. Your selection is like a newbie DJ. Sorry but true. For everything but your Radio you rule...but seriously work on that because its crap.
Been trying out this feature with a lot of my favourite artists, and yet to get anything that I'm not happy with. Absolutely love the new radio. It's particularly great when you're not too sure what you fancy listening to. Just think of an artist that you like and let Spotify do the rest!
A significant improvement on the old radio function. I'd like to see the ability to skip back through tracks, or at very least be able to see the history of the tracks played! I appreciate there may be rights issues for non-premium customers with replaying, but premium customers should have access to play tracks as many times as they like? As others have commented, being able to start a station from multiple categories/artists would bring it back into line with the competition.
rlawley you can already look at the tracks that have previousley played by going into the play queue and clicking history.
