We have just released an update for our iPhone and iPod Touch app. It includes many fixes, among them, Spotify used to remember your location in the app and the currently playing track when being restarted; it now does again.
Here is the full list of changes in version 0.4.19:
* Fixed: Inbox unseen markers and app badge would not update when playing a previously unseen track.
* New: Can now open links by pasting them into the search field under the Search tab.
* Changed: Links are now always opened on the Search tab.
* New: Prevent screen from locking when device is connected to charger and Spotify is playing a track (e g when in a car mount).
* Fixed: Now playing speaker icon is now shown on the correct track in the Inbox and Starred playlists.
* Fixed: Opening a track link as a non-Premium stalled forever.
* Fixed: Crashed when swiping the “All Tracks” meta-playlist.
* Fixed: Was missing cover art on albums and artists sometimes.
* Fixed: Crashed when playing a track after logging out and back in again.
* Fixed: Spotify used to remember your location in the app and the currently playing track when being restarted; it now does again.
* Fixed: bugs related to opening links.

Iphone 3gs user. Just come back to premium after leaving because of issues and now cant play ANYTHING!!! sort it out spotify! An update on any issues would also be good!

I'm quite disappointed. The iOS app has now received two updates without any sign of progress on the Android app! Andriod users are paying the same amount as iOS users, and yet we don't get the same functionality. Either update the Android app, or give android users a reasonable discount. :(
To all those moaning iOS gets too many updates, the Android client has features the iOS one dosent, it's fair.

I second what hpguru said -- where is the next Android update?!? I am *so* frustrated with the Droid version being far inferior to Apple's. The lack of folders, and the constant log-offs that cause me to lose my track place when I go to another app briefly, need to go way ASAP. This is incredibly upsetting. Android users pay $10/month too! Diego, please tell us why Android support seems so lacking and when we can expect our fixes...please!

It's a shame that the Android app is far behind the IOS one in the list of Spotify priorities. More than a million users - market figures - are simply ignored.

Just got the new update to my iPhone and now I cant get access to any of my play lists. All is f--kn lost and it does not connect my WiFi. Seriously! I pay for this?

iPad, please, do it now. And insert the possibility to sort playlists by artist and tracks and such. or a "go to bottom"-button. it's pretty dull to scroll through ~1000 tracks to get to the latest inserted songs!
iPad - Someone at Spotify should be fired simply for the fact that 17 months after Apple launched the iPad which has now sold approximately 50 million units worldwide, there isn't a Spotify App. It's not like your customers haven't been asking (screaming).
I'd love to be able to actually alphabetise my playlists instead of having to get back to my desktop just to rearrange them manually because again I there is no quick alphabetisation button there either. The ability to move the playlists on my phone would also allow me to use the folders properly.

If it wasn't for Rdio not being available in Sweden at this time and not even if you pay for a premium account, I'd be long gone from Spotify, it's been months since you claimed on your twitter that iPad news were imminent. I've lost all hope for you as a company.
Radio even managed to push Lion support for the native OS X client, a fully awesome and working iPad app taking use of all it's screen estate, really, there's no excuse.

I am VERY seriously considering canceling my premium account. I pay $9.99 to use Spotify on my mobile device, which is virtually unbearable to do, because the tracks on my playlists are in order of date added, not alphabetical order. I have playlists of 2,000+ tracks. How am I supposed to remember the order I added tracks to it? This is unbelievably stupid, and you'd think such a glaring oversight would have been fixed by now. Get it together, Spotify. I've found SO many forum posts all over the internet of people complaining about this problem. Since premium accounts are your bread and butter, your income, I'd think you'd want to make the experience smooth and pleasant in order to retain customers?

GIVE US ALL THE ABILITY TO SORT BY ARTIST/ALBUM/ETC. You guys are borderline ridiculous right now, in your inability to address this publicly or integrate it into the mobile app. Also, why doesn't your desktop/mobile app support full ID3 tag support? To include TRACK NUMBERS?!?!?! How can you expect your customers to replace their music listening experience setup with Spotify when you can't implement simple features that we have had since Napster? Come ON SPOTIFY. You can't live off the hype forever.
Hi there. I use Spotify everyday as my main way of listening to music. Most of the time I am a very satisfied customer but I'm afraid the recent update has two bugs which really annoy me: 1. crashes a lot. I can't see any pattern to it, but the latest version is much less stable than the previous one. 2. default play is Shuffle. When I select a track, the next track will be at random in the playlist. I'm fed up of having to remember to tell the app to not Shuffle. It would be great if you could sort these two bugs, or at least indicate when they might be addressed. I notice you haven't responded to any of the comments above, which I find worrying. Why give space for comments but then give no sign of reading them? I know there's been the facebook launch, which is the future of listening to music. If you want Spotify to in that future, then it would seem wise to listen to your customers now. I know some of the comments here are pretty strong, but isn't that a sign of passion for what your company and brand can do? By the way If you get time, an ability to arrange alphabetically would be great. Thanks in advance - David
Since the last update, Spotify insists on setting Shuffle on ALL THE TIME. This is getting very annoying - please fix quickly!!!!

How about being even nicer now and removing track fading from the Spotify app? This is a major issue that is going ignored. Fade-ups on each track when using the app? Why? This ruins the impact of music. Premium subscribers shouldn't be paying to have their music compromised. If it's not compromised on the desktop, then why on the app? Makes no sense. You have to do better. Please fix this. I really don't want to cancel my Premium account, but I fear I will have to, since this is being ignored.

Im happy with both the android and ios version for my phone and ipod, but face it, there is a NEED for an iPad app! Written on my ipad listening to spotify with the lousy iphone/ipod app.....
The iOS App is terrible. I can't believe I pay for it and I won't after 2 months unless it's all fixed - thats my limit. I'd like: - It not to crawl to a halt on large (2000+ item) playlists - Better yet, so I don't need one massive 'Offline music' playlist... the ability to search and tunnel down through Artists / Genres / Albums etc - A real 'Offline' mode which retains search and works well. So it's just like iPod on my iPhone - all my offline tracks. Online then brings back all tracks. They are basic usability issues. Please, please fix. The app is so unusable its laughable. I'll be making a mocking YouTube video and advising everyone to avoid you if you can't fix this - it's a rip off.
Just got an iPad - freakin' awesome!!! But the Spotify app blows... I'm seriously considering moving to Rdio. Their dedicated iPad app rocks! The only feature Rdio lacks is being able to sync both owned and non-owned tracks to a playlist... The new updated for Spotify has taken away access to my own playlists of tracks from THEIR library of music without syncing them for offline now - what's up with that??? So I can only listen to tracks I don't own from my computer??? Then what am I paying for? I don't appreciate paying for broken software... Rdio seems to be more Apple friendly and come next month when my subscription is up - if no drastic changes are made to the Spotify mobile app - I'm switching over. iPad / iPhone / iPod users - check out the Rdio app - they give you a free trial to their premium level service. Syncing tracks from their library is much faster than Spotify too.
Hi, I have an iPod Touch 3rd generation and this new version of Spotify crash after approx. 5-10 minutes of listening. Really really annoying, please Spotify fix this !!
