Update to Spotify for iPhone & iPod Touch now available
We have an update to our popular iOS app to let you know about. This update is version 0.4.13 and includes a number of improvements and features, including a brand new swipe action.
The full list of improvements and features includes:
- Improved: Sync your playlists even if Spotify is running in the background.
- New: Play queue. Queued tracks will play immediately following the currently playing track. After all the queued tracks have played, the playlist or album you were playing from before will resume.
- New: You can now swipe left-to-right on a track (in a playlist, album or search result) to reveal a menu of actions for that track. [iOS 3.2 or newer] The possible actions are:
- Star or unstar the track.
- Add the track to the play queue.
- Share the track to friends.
- Add the track to a playlist.
- Show the track’s album.
- Show the track’s artist.
- Fixed: Sharing tracks and albums to Facebook is now possible again.

Android users??!! I'm getting a bit sick of the inconsistent updates for all the platforms. An indication of when these features will appear on Android would be nice. I'm so close to binning off my subscription all together.

And the questions rises; Where's the ability to check the queue and sort the songs in the queue. If you don't know how, copy the interface from WIMP to iPhone. They have managed to do a seamlessly working app with great function regarding play queue and the user interface. So... the question is - How hard could it be to implement the play queue list and make it accessible via the playlist list like in the desktop version? And... Get the iPad version out on the app store... Like now. All of this should have been out at the moment of the big change the may 1st...
Nevermind playlist folders - simply the ability to sort playlists alphabetically would make a huge difference. Then the next step would be to allow browsing in an Album/Artist hierarchy. Why do i need to make a playlist of an album? An album is an album.
Play queues, awesome! Would be great to be able to scroll through the queue too. While the iPad app would be great, I think the iPhone version suits the iPad fine for now. I'd rather have a Boxee app, that would be awesomesauce :)
A remote function to your computer would be nice.

And here's another user desperate for an iPad-app, especially with this functionality built-in! It'd make me go and get an Apple TV for Airplay right away and become my primary music-listening method, too... Come on guys, at least show us some sneak previews for once!
Where's "Share the track to friends" as described in your list of features for this update? I would also say that the "Browse artist" icon looks more like "Share to friends" icon to me...in fact, I thought there was a bug in that button when it showed artist info instead of a sharing dialog. And really, *where is the queue*? What use is the queue function if I have no way of even seeing what's being queued? Am I just supposed to remember what I just queued? Come on people. I rarely comment negatively on anything, but this time I just had to. All of this is just basic usability stuff that could have been ironed out with just a little bit of testing with actual users, and I just can't believe you guys don't have the resources for it. Come on. Also, goddamnit, I'm a paying customer and I deserve to be respected with at least a little courtesy in the form of good, quality releases.

Great update. But how are you supposed to "Share the track to friends" without first playing the song as you could before too. I cannot se a button for this action. Comments?

Great update, thanks! What I'm still missing is the abbility to hide the unsynchronised playlists/Albums in the app. When you have a long list of albums/playlists (like I do) you don't have scroll so much. And folders would be a good addition as well. eagerly waiting for the next update (yeah, I know..;-)

Guys, love the work you are putting in, but please can we have playlist folders in the mobile app soon? Also, whilst I'm here...I'd like to use Spotify to play music at my wedding.
