Australian duo Gypsy & the Cat release their exclusive EP to Spotify Premium listeners today (and to the free users on 24th January). The EP is a beautiful accompaniment to the band’s debut album Gilgamesh which is available now on Spotify and will receive a full release later this year by RCA Records.
Influenced by a mixture of musical legends ranging from Jeff Buckley and modern DJs from Justice to Daft Punk, Gypsy & the Cat are 22-year-olds Xavier Bacash & 24-year-old Lionel Towers, who only a year ago began making music in a garage in Melbourne. The EP includes two very exciting remixes for Spotify; the Alan Braxe mix of “Jona Vark” and the Aeroplane remix of “Piper’s Song”, and two brand new studio recordings, “Til Tomorrow” and “If You Could See”. Premium listeners can check out the EP now.
Fresh from a sell-out Australian tour, Gypsy & the Cat will be performing in the UK throughout 2011. Visit www.facebook.com/gypsyandthecat for dates near you.
