Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s greatest hits

Available for the first time from today are the greatest hits from Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, Hawaii’s man behind one of the world’s most recognised songs - Over The Rainbow.

His new album Somewhere Over The Rainbow encompasses the heart and soul of Israel K, from his traditional Hawaiian medleys including White Sandy Beach of Hawai’i to beautiful arrangements of western hits Wind Beneath My Wings and What A Wonderful World.

Due to ill health, Israel K passed away in 1997. As his body lay in state, an estimated 10,000 people filed past his casket to bid the gentle giant aloha. He was 38 years old. His musical legacy remains and for the first time this brand new album invites you to discover the world he’s left behind.
