Ultimate Hendrix playlist competition

Last week we premiered the world exclusive of the new Jimi Hendrix video, Bleeding Heart, as a prelude to the launch of his forthcoming posthumous album, Valleys Of Neptune. The album debuts on March 8th but Spotify Premium users will be able to hear it before anyone else, as of this Thursday.

In addition to the album launch we have a great competition to tell you about today, requiring all your knowledge of the legendary guitarist’s back catalogue in order to create your ultimate Jimi Hendrix playlist.

Use this Hendrix playlist as a little inspiration to create your own. The winning playlist will be picked by Eddie Kramer, Jimi’s original producer and friend, and will be given the stamp of approval by Experience Hendrix as the ‘Ultimate Hendrix Playlist’!

Submit your playlist here on the blog for the chance to win this honour, together with a limited-edition engraved and numbered iPod Touch (see below), preloaded with one month’s Spotify Premium access and Hendrix’s complete re-mastered catalogue.

A further six limited-edition iPod Touch’s are up for grabs too - so get posting those playlists and prepare to rock out!

Can you feature more releases from the independent music scene and not only from the big labels? Why not take a look at Nomy, who last summer received over 10,000 plays on spotify. Then I want to se more electronica features here.
