Music catalogue updated with 229,221 tracks!
A couple of days ago we added 24,907 new albums - that’s 229,221 tracks in total!
With so much music having been added it simply wouldn’t be fair of us to pick out highlights… so here’s a somewhat random selection for your sensory pleasure:
We’ll be releasing a spreadsheet for this update early next week, so make sure to check back on this post then. It’s worth noting that as with every Spotify update, not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions.

Much content is always great and appreciated, but it would be cool if you could fix some of the bigger bugs and flaws of the client in the next time finally. These bugs/flaws are very (!) annoying for us users and it's frustrating to see that there is not any progress and effort to help us here! Don't know why we should give feedback about such problems in the support forum anymore...
@akrde: I'm certain they are aware of those bugs/flaws, but it all comes down to priorities. Right now the mobile stuff comes first.
I can only use the client and many bugs/flaws are notified by many users to Spotify for many many months now. Mobile stuff or not, it's ANNOYING that nothing happens in the desktop client here!

Em, hello. I know this more than likely isn't the place to ask this, but I dunno where else to ask it. x_x Well... Do you guys think you could add some Vertical Horizon music? I REALLY LOVE Vertical Horizon, and it was one of the , eh, "groups"? I was looking forward to being able to listen to, but then I noticed there was only one or two songs by them on spotify. So if you could get some songs by them on there that would be LOVELY. I say they, cause I've heard a few different singers and such, so I dunno if it's a band or what. Aw well.. I dunno if this will make any difference, but it would be really lovely if you actually did this. Thank you so much for spotify, it's the most lovely program ever. *hugs*

Last night i had a dream that I saw this on the spotify blog: "Get your music to spotify now!" "Today we are proud to tell that we opned the lid of our upcoming upload platform rarely. Artists can now sign up for their mini-artist account and start uploading their best song straight here and we will make them ready for streaming as soon we can. Our mini-upload service will currently allow you to upload one album with two songs at maximum, but this will be increased as we rolling out our upload platform through the autumn. "
You really got awesome music, and this is an awesome program :D the only thing i really miss at the moment is lillasyster and a little japanese groups like maximum the hormone and asian kung-fu generation, so it would be awesome if u added that, but i understan that u cant add everything every person wants : )

Whatever happened to high bit-rate Q9 for premium subscribers? 8 weeks since launch, and instead of the promised roll-out to the whole library even the (UK) top 10 now has 3 tracks not HD encoded, and dozens of the top 100... Have Spotify abandoned the plan?

nice, but is just me or some track are disappered or messed up(dunno) i was listen album from "king crimson" some days ago, now those album arent there anymore...

@funmaker11 - it doesn't show up under search, but sometimes I get AC/DC as a reccomended artist. I click them and back in black is there with all the tracks in red (unplayable)

Can't you make a deal with Universal to get more reggaeton albums? Latin urban music in general... At least all albums with the biggest acts, like Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel... and Arcangel, De La Ghetto, Jowell & Randy, Yomo, Alexis & Fido etc etc
@'dust11' & 'marsipan' Its all about the record labels, that has this idea that some music should only be avaliable in some countries. Why these issues still isnt resolved (one may think that it would take a one time clean to implement these restrictions) I dont know but just be aware that the fault is only the labels and not something Spotify can do about it. So if you want something "red" or lost back on your playlist contact the label and complain.
is not about the "red track" is about entire collection of LP, that was playable few days ago, and now there isnt even in list anymore. i dont now if is fault of spotify or the labels that choose to remove songs from one day to another. i was just wondering why this happen

Great news, the better the selection.. well.. the better! Just try to get metallica and the other "biggies" in, i own their record but as i listen everything from spotify im just too bored to browse trough the cds and listen to them :D Okay, i know im too lazy but i think it would be good to get these bands to understand the value of services like spotify.. also i know of alot of people who would gladly pay premium if they just had some of these missing biggies. Maybe metallica and beatles etc for premium users only?

Spotify's Andres seem to be on holiday, and I can't wait to get him back here to answer questions and update us. Things are definitely not the same without him. If you read this Andres, - you're doing a brilliant job! They had their full discography up here recently. I fear that some labels are speculating in this, and only having some albums by an artist on Spotify so that we will go out and buy the rest... Not good...
