7digital downloads now available in Sweden
We previously announced an expanded “Buy From” for users in Spain, France and the UK. Today I wanted to let you know that our download partner 7digital has officially launched their service in Sweden. Along with their launch we’ve expanded our download option to include links for all our Swedish users.
To purchase albums or tracks right click on the track name (control click in Mac OS) and you’ll see the “Buy From” menu item. If the track or album is available for purchase there will be a link to the 7Digital store where you can download the mp3.

Last time I checked, most modern Apple mouses have two buttons as well. :p And, if you don't wanna use it, it's COMMAND+click right, not control+click?
I hope you are not making a mistake!! I am a big Spotify fan, but would it not have been better to cooperate with Itunes on buying songs than 7Digital? They have all the songs, which 7digital do not. I would also guess that it would have made it easier to get your iphone application approved as well. By the way, when will the Iphone application be approved. A few weeks have passed now and we still have not seen it in the Itunes store. /Hans

Hans, why? Why should Apple control everything in Appstore? That is just bull. You should be able to put whatever you want in the Appstore and it should be up to the end user to chose what he or she want to put in it's own phone. Look at similer stores, they are not even half the strict as Apple. I hate that I have to jailbreak just to: Be able to have my own picture on my homescreen. Use google voice. Be able to chose my own SMS-signal/ringtone. Change theme, icons and so on, and so on... Sorry for the post but just had too.... /Toby

I couldn't agree with you more Toby! You should be able to do all those things, but the question is will Appstore be ready for that type of freedom of choice for the individual? I hope so, but I'm not so sure.. Private coorporations have never been any big fans of individuals freedom of choice, if it hasn't served their cause. Just watch how Google and Yahoo have been acting in China (perhaps not the same thing as allowing spotify on iphone, but still..) I still hope, I'm still waiting, I do not want to become even more cynical but why has the application not been approved yet?
I just went through my playlists, and NONE of the tracks I have listed can be purchased from 7digital... Seems like a useless useless service for me. I'll stick to using other means to get my music. :)
Oh, my mistake.. I realised the purchase links doesn't work from playlists... That's kind of stupid isn't it?
Oh, it works if I re-add tracks to playlists... This is giving me a headache. LOL. Oh well, it's not so important that I feel the need to remake all my playlists. Make the client "rescan" the playlists every now and then perhaps?
Seems like a bug... I can't get a purchase link to songs that are obviously available at 7digital.com.
This is basically advertising, is it? They're like an advertising partner? This is such a significant addition (the idea of it) that it takes me aback for a second. Sure, it might add value to the service, but isn't it weakening the idea of instant streaming? Well, I guess not...you're still just giving people the choice to freely stream from Spotify, OR purchase for ownership - let them decide. - I suppose the idea is that you discover music with Spotify, and something you really *love* you then buy, so you can put it on your iPod etc. In the end, I think this might be an incredibly smart idea (business-wise) - maybe the artists who have been balking at Spotify's potential for earning them revenue will change when they see this added value for Spotify! So, I guess - I hope you can strike a deal with iTunes! Look forward to seeing what happens...

I joined and created a 7digital account to download a few songs. On the registration screen it clearly stated the files were 320k MP3 files. I procedeed and bought a song, only to find it was a wma file, which is of course useless on my iphone. I wasted 1 euro. I feel scammed.

Have you considered a link for purchasing CDs? I don't buy lossy downloads, but I do buy CDs after discovering new music on Spotify. Tim

Hiya Spotify-people. Got some suggestions for y'all.. 1) You have GOT to create an abbreviated name for Spotify. it's just too long :P :). 2)One should be able to see the popularity of a song even when in a playlist, and thus, be able to sort by popularity as well. What is the popularity based on anyway? Is it the total ammount of listeners? mkay bye..

Hey! The 7digital site doesn't work with Firefox 3.5.2! After a few seconds the page freeze and you have to shut it down the hard way.
You know what woul be really great? instead of some overpriced and limited service like 7downloads, i instead would want some kind of gold premium Spotify account where i perhaps paid a little more than regular premium but instead could download all the tracks available on Spotify in mp3 or flac format. Please make this possible.

Is it normal that most of the song I'd like to buy from spotify doesn't show this entry in the contextual menu ? Then, for the few one that I can buy, why not linking directly on the song instead of the artist on 7digital ? Since I'm using Spotify, I've always ended in amazon to buy the music instead of what you (could) propose. You should improve the ergonomy here, it should be easier than it is.

I just experienced Spotify for the first time today, opening a premium account. I love it! However, the only way I would pay extra for downloads, would be if you actually offered me something extra - lossless audio (preferrably FLAC).
Totally with discussion regarding FLAC. Why would anyone pay for MP3 quality when its already available in the free or premium Spotify subscriptions. I would only buy the music in lossless format where FLAC is predominantly used!

@ diverge: Were these 30 tracks in one of your playlists? There's something funny going on here, because I can't get a purchase link when I right click some of the songs in my playlist -- despite the fact that I can buy the very same songs if I go directly to 7digital.com.
Update to my message above: NOW it seems I can get purchase links from most of the tracks in my playlists. This was definitely not the case right after the introduction of this feature. Seems to work now.
What's the bitrate of the downloads?

Congratulations to Spotify on the remarkable assortment of classical recordings available. The audio quality is inadequate - ditto purchased downloads if in anything less than CD bitrates. But as a provider of samples of what might be bought on CD, Spotify is great. Why not set up a CD price comparison gateway as an alternative to the 7digital downloads? It would be another source of advertising revenue and a valuable service for users. If record labels saw Spotify as a source of CD sales it might also increase the number prepared to make their recordings available to you.
Finally! and I'm glad it isn't iTunes, but the only downside with 7Digital is that it hasn't all the songs that spotify have, well...I guess it just a matter of time I guess before they have it ^^,
