Spotify and IODA ink deal

ioda.pngOne of the challenges all music services face is providing a wide range of music for users with all sorts of different tastes. We’ve worked hard to add classical, punk and indie content from different sources and adding more music is an ongoing process that we continue to work on.

As part of this process we’re really happy today to let you know that we’ve reached an agreement with IODA to bring their extensive catalogue of music to Spotify. IODA is a leader in digital distribution, marketing, and technology solutions for the independent music industry and is a great addition to our growing catalogue. IODA will provide Spotify users with music drawn from a catalogue of nearly two million tracks from over 50 countries and spanning a broad variety of styles including rock, electronic, hip-hop, metal, punk, indie, world, latin, jazz and classical.

Just some of the great artists covered by IODA include: The Prodigy, Burial, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Bashy, Frank Black, Vieux Farka Touré, Broken Social Scene, Easy Star All Stars, Aventura and Stephen Fry. IODA also brings its growing number of international partners into the deal, including Nordic territory partner Bonnier Amigo Music Group, which adds artists such as Ane Brun, Madcon, Hello Saferide, Sunrise Avenue and The Third Degree to the catalogue.

We’ll be adding the tracks over the coming months and are really excited to start working with IODA.

never. using. wmp. again.

Every track by "The Prodigy" is misslabeled as "Prodigy". This causes incorrect scrobbling to last.fm.

IODA seems to have Relapse Records, Planet Mu, Hydra Head Records and Neurot Recordings, that's awesome!

Well done !!

Awesome! You guys are the best and I can't wait to explore the new additions. ;)

Yes! Finally Revelation records!

Well done guys! Does this mean i can finally listen to Architects? (UK metal band)

Def. good news for the hardcore/punk community! Revelation Records New Age Records Fat Wreck . . . Will be (even more) awesome! Cheers! :D

It's amazing this incorporation; although I don't mean if the last album of Prodigy will be hear on spain; the rights are of Blanco y Negro.

GREAT NEWS! This is simply outstanding, but i do have one question. Why is there just one record of the eagles? Id love to listen to their other albums on spotify as well!

Ah, finally more tracks from Burial on Spotify. Been looking forward to this. Congratulations on the deal.

@gannon: Yeah. Spotify should name them 'The Prodigy', not 'Prodigy'.

Still nothing from elefant records

ok, sounds good but in the meantime spotify (the app) just apparently trashed almost 20 of my playlists (!) ... they're still loading ...for hours and when I copy paste URI I get a "liste introuvable !" any way to make them work again ? spotify:user::playlist:0breDaK6x2L8hPZf1KYtr0 spotify:user::playlist:1mD91QBGiqClq6XEAzyGGm spotify:user::playlist:4DDPBK2cvGKISaDGSGI4Is spotify:user::playlist:14Ltd3qJyxGIDpOhkISywt spotify:user::playlist:7myTH4BlCg2F6adNlzk2bA spotify:user::playlist:5a1b0BzY6helHyCKeQdgO0 spotify:user::playlist:2tf5WwqaWXJjUHYrrbaDSP spotify:user::playlist:35aoPfXpyEFBTocOGmzvDv spotify:user::playlist:1pwbVXQ6zMdwkt14MC4Wyk spotify:user::playlist:6rilmQCZw4Uo5YTMHylwwj spotify:user::playlist:4AiaQS2wlFlKvqGjc1wjHX spotify:user::playlist:0wNlNMAN938wcLflmZNQrW spotify:user::playlist:1D4kEHcp44jXb3fa6THB8N spotify:user::playlist:08b4yy4vFX0zxROdqonaOD spotify:user::playlist:3zLAsWxW5qJsT7zVHxuqMv spotify:user::playlist:3mHJEJf7xeZOpfYiqHpYW2 spotify:user::playlist:1UepkopYhTD9ipgpKa24X2 spotify:user::playlist:3lZcOl8DGy392GpIsB4W0G

i have lost my music.. help. can anyone help me... ANYONE.¬¬

ah ok, seems it's temporary... "We are currently experiencing some problems with our playlist server. Playlists will return once the problem is resolved" https://www.spotify.com/en/help/service-status/

could you add the other Volbeat albums available in sweden(don't know if they're available in any other country)

Mmm... you must talk with Beatport por electro music and some death metal/extreme metal labels for include it... I miss some more underground but really good music as black metal, death metal, etc.

@gondwana: Try to reinstall the program. That made the playlists come back for me when I had the same problem some months back.

Nice one! By the way: What's the difference between blue and grey comments here?

Waiting for Spotify to open to a DJ community and offer large amount of tracks for DJ's, smth like beatport, this could be a large step for aquiring new customers.

Hi, is there any chance of adding african music like Tinariwen, Sally Nyolo, and lots of other african artists?

@akrde: Maybe blue mean they're Premium users? And gray are regular users?

Ohhh, Burial!! Awsome, thanks! On another note, I just saw that "A Small Frenzy" has found her way onto Spotify, never heard of her before today but I believe I'm in love! More please!!

Hey! Couldn't you hit up a sweet deal with MySpace, so you could add all the music beeing uploaded to MySpace? That would be awsome =) Cheers for a great service tho..//M

I second the motion to try and make a deal with Beatport. Would be absolutely amazing to have their catalog on spotify.

Can you please fix the naming of "The Prodigy"? All tunes are mislabeled "Prodigy" which is an American rap artist not in any way related to the English techno/rave group. Having all of The Prodigy's tunes mislabeled screws up my Last.fm charts, as I'm scrobbling everything I listen to on Spotify to Last.fm.

where's the Vieux Farka Touré tracks!? Three tracks, two of which are remixes, hardly counts towards his whole back catalogue!

Ohhh come on! When is Burial going to be added? It's been a month already, I need my moody ambient dubstep...
