RIP Robin Gibb, he was a truly talented songwriter. http://t.co/k24MzEpE
It’s been a particularly cold and rainy weekend here we hope so we can lighten the mood a bit with some great new music and a big update. We’ve added 8,367 albums and singles today, in total 90,513 new tracks are now available.
A lot of today’s update independent music from CD Baby, some highlights and new releases include:
For a full listing of today’s additions please have a look at the Google documents, there are two of them because of the size of the update, one sorted by artist and one by label. As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions.

Hands track 9 with Sir. Philip Oakey of the Human League: http://open.spotify.com/track/6eaEdhCKOumOVglcT68fSZ Perfect!
Okay, I've asked this question a couple of times but won't stop until I get an answer. What happend to Arctic Monkeys? The first album and a couple of singles is completely gone. I hope for an answer this time.
Give us swedes some Ac/Dc and Beatles please.
Any chance of a complete A-Z artist index, not just of additions - everything?
@rikardberg It seems that Arctic Monkeys (or the label that represents them) have chosen to make those releases unavailable. Obviously, they don't want people to listen to their music, or for them to get paid for it. Take their hint, find another artist to listen to that embraces this new method of distribution.
Great update! One question though: Any chance of adding the two best albums of 2009, DM Stith - "Heavy Ghost" (Asthmatic Kitty/Rough Trade) and Grizzly Bear - "Veckatimest" (Warp/Rough Trade)?
Arctic Monkeys are there for me, I am uk based.
argh, I can't keep up with all those updates, ok, nice problem to have :) Philip Glass/Steve Reich fans should take note of the Daniel Lentz albums added today, nice stuff ("Wild Turkeys" is splendid, "Wolfmass" is not bad either but a bit too much on the pompous side :)
http://open.spotify.com/album/117DiWBli9AyuQfrOoq7tQ Yes! Finally I can listen to the definitive Solitary Man again!
Why isn't there a "report wrong tags"-function in Spotify? There are soo many errors with songs and artist names, even in this latest release!
More Calvin Harris added. Sweet!
Since when Grizzly Bear are on Rough Trade? They are only signed to Warp worldwide. Where is Placebo's 'Battle for the Sun'? Last.fm and Lala already have this one.
Excellent update. Ali Hassan Kuban, Fanfare Ciocarlia, Boban Markovic, Klezmatics, Frank London - what more do you need in life?
The Postal Service! Finally :D
There's so much music! Nice!
... add räserbajs to spotify! Pleeeaaase :))))
I was in complete chock first seing an AC/DC album... But of course not available in sweden... Damn teasers! ;-P Lots of other stuff though!
The Postal Service and Band Of Horses, Great! Still waiting for The Smiths albums.
Lots of good stuff! The Gossip for example. Too bad the new Cursive album is blocked in Sweden! :(
Well, the new Taking Back Sunday album New Again seems to have disappeared in The Netherlands..
@qwentyn - thanks... will definately try him out. @all complaining certain albums are not out yet. Not all things can be included always. Hold your horses. I too am witing for a lot of Nine Inch Nails, The Most Serene Republic, Broken social scene albums and much, much more.... But Spotify just updated with another 8.000+ albums. Be glad! Try out some new stuff. Use Last.FM to find new music (or compilations with your favorit artists) and then play that music with Spotify.... find new music that you love! That is what this tremendously great service should help you to do.
Any chance of Adding "Invaders Must Die" By Prodigy?
@clatchem It's added, but UK users can't listen to it, unfortunately. I'm in UK and I want to listen to it...
Thank you so much for all the fantastic music Spotify, especially the Bert Jansch albums in this update. I've found so much great folk music on here, from the Folkways and field recordings all the way up to Fairport Convention's latest albums. :-)
More Oasis
...Why is the latest album from Heaven & Hell suddenly unavaible?!
could you please add Ron Pope? he's amazing other then that I love spotify
oh and rediscover... more indie/alternate overall
It would be cool if you also added music from Jamendo.com!
whyyyyyyyyyyyy isnt jonas brothers new album available in sweden ? it's realesed. stupid spotify
Pleeeeease can you add Metallica and Feeder back catalogues :) 2 Massive bands missing from your archive me thinks...
And also , why is "The Slim Shady LP" by Eminem the clean version with every slightly offensive word removed. Thats a bit rubbish to be honest...
and .. where is "IN RAINBOWS"!!!! come on , keep up lads...
AND ... RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS ... practically nothing after "Mothers Milk" , no "Californication", "By The Way" and "Stadium Arcadium".... shockingly bad guys ...
... and theres bugger all Oasis as well, these are massive bands that just aren't there...
hey.. why have most of Travis albums disappeared??? Also, I cannot see any longer Faith No More's Angel Dust... they were all there a couple of weeks ago!!
Why did you remopve Räserbajs as an artist?
Did any of you actually read the blog post? "As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions." This unbelievable service gives you more than you could've dreamed for 10 or so years ago, and now you're still not satisfied. Especially you septemberrain, not only are the Jonas brothers a crock of manufactured s-h-i-t-e solely for the purpose of making money (and you expect them to make it free). But you dare to remark "stupid spotify", a service that gives you so much and asks for next to nothing in return. Sorry for the somber note I just felt it had to be said. As ever, loving the service spotify crew! And cheers for taking your time over the weekend to add to the library.
please please please add invaders must die to uk spotify?!
