Today we have a small update to let you know about, roughly 200 albums and singles were added for a total of 2,062 new tracks.
We also still have our pre-release of Depeche Mode’s latest album, Sounds of the Universe, for premium users in the Nordics. Along with the pre-release we have a contest to win a chance to meet the band at the Arvika festival so if you’re interested check out the pre-release blog post.
For a full listing of todays additions please have a look at the Google Doc. As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions.

What would be a fantastic idea would be to have some sort of star rating system where users can rate a song, which then later on gives to option to look back on all the users own ratings. That way as users we can build up a library of our favourite songs and treat the application more like itunes just with adverts inbetween.
Thanks Andres for making it clearer that, with every update, as well as adding tracks, previously available tracks may disappear or become unplayable. I know it's not Spotify's fault, but unfortunately it's you that takes all the blame for this crazy system of regional restrictions. Users should focus their attention on complaining to the artists and their record labels in order to get things changed instead of complaining to Spotify.

I miss having some classic 90's eurodance on the list, Basic Element, DJ Bobo, Culture Beat (Mr Vain!!) etc, for those times you want to feel nostalgic ;) I guess you're making more current music a priority though.

Of course its the record labels and artists fault that Spotify has too remove music but the complaints are correct because only once have Spotify announced that they are removing music and then they wrote "From this point on there are no plans to remove any more music and our catalogue will only grow from here." And that why, at least me got confused by artist suddenly disapearing.

It's good to see that you have taken away most of the " - Album Version" tags, but there's still a lot of songs tagged with " - LP version" and " - Live Show / Event" for instance. I do of course listen to the songs whatever they are tagged, but it screws up my last.fm which is really annoying. I would understand it if the live songs were tagged with "(Live)", but all those other tags are just too much.

The only let down for Spotify is that the latest downloads sometimes take months to come through. Eg. Duck Sauce hasn't shown up, and they released their debut single in November! Thanks
