To sync your phone with Spotify:
When syncing your music from Spotify to your iPod, only music from your Downloads, and music that you have imported into Local Files, will be transferred. You can read more about Local music here.
When syncing your iPod with Spotify for the first time, the following content will be erased from your iPod. The music will be replaced by music from your computer.
Please make sure that you don’t have iTunes running before you sync your iPod with Spotify.
To sync your iPod with Spotify:
If you would like to choose which playlists you want to sync to your iPod click “Manually choose playlist to sync” on the device page.
No. Only local music files can be synced to your iPod. Spotify streaming music can only be played within Spotify applications.
You are not able to add or sync new movies, TV shows or audiobooks to your iPod from iTunes without removing the music from your Spotify Library. However, you can still sync your podcasts and photos.
You can only sync your iPod with one Spotify installation at a time. Please note that if you sync your iPod to your Spotify account on another computer the content on your iPod will be replaced with the local tracks from that computer instead. Read more about syncing here.
Yes, all your purchased tracks in Spotify will show album art. When possible we will also try to show album art for your other local tracks.
You can eject the iPod by either clicking on the eject button to the right of the iPod name ,or by right-clicking the device name and selecting “Eject”. We recommend that you eject your iPod properly before disconnecting the cable.
If the iPod does not show in Spotify’s Devices list, unplug your iPod from your computer and reconnect it again.
You will be able to continue to sync podcasts through iTunes without affecting the music you have synced through Spotify.
You can also use Spotify to sync your podcasts if you have imported your iTunes library into Spotify. When a podcast has been downloaded in iTunes it will automatically appear in the Local files list in Spotify and then synced to the iPod.
Note that your podcasts synced through Spotify will be placed under Music in your iPod.
In order for Spotify to work with your iPod, your movies, TV shows and audiobooks will be removed when syncing with Spotify the first time. (To save these, please backup your content in iTunes before syncing with Spotify.) Read more about how to sync your iPod here.
If you would like your iPod to no longer sync with Spotify, you can resync with iTunes:
Your iPod will now be synced with iTunes, and no longer synced with Spotify.
If you connect your iPod when Spotify is running, it will not sync. If you click on the iPod in the Devices listyou will see the “Erase iPod and Sync with Spotify” message.
Spotify supports all models of iPods except the very early, Firewire versions.
