Spotify Previews is a new section that showcases a few of the fun ideas and projects that our developers have been working on - mostly in their spare time, during hack days or in the middle of the night when they can't sleep. Some of these are pet projects, some are prototypes but they're all designed to make Spotify even more enjoyable.
The projects here are unsupported by Spotify so they may not work as planned or be removed at any time, but if you like what we're doing let us know and if they prove popular enough they may well become regular Spotify features.
It’s here. Spotify for Android is getting a complete overhaul and we wanted you to get special preview. Here’s what’s coming:
That’s not the end of it. We’re working hard on adding further features, including folders and Last FM scrobbling, before the app goes live in Google Play.
In order to get your hands on the all-new Android preview, firstly set your phone to allow installation from ‘Unknown Sources’ by going to the Settings > Applications > Unknown sources menu. Once that’s done, click on the button below on your phone to get the update.
Your feedback as ever is really important to us. Please let us know what you think by visiting The Spotify Community. We really hope you like what we’ve done with the place.
This is a preview build of Spotify for Linux. As a preview release this version is still unsupported, but we're running it ourselves and will try to make sure it keeps pace with its Mac and Windows siblings.
So how do you get it? We've packaged it for Debian Squeeze/Ubuntu.
# 1. Add this line to your list of repositories by # editing your /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://repository.spotify.com stable non-free # 2. If you want to verify the downloaded packages, # you will need to add our public key sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 4E9CFF4E # 3. Run apt-get update sudo apt-get update # 4. Install spotify! sudo apt-get install spotify-client
You can find more fresh stuff on our developer page.
