Spotify and Boxee, together at last
Today we’re excited to announce that Spotify is available on Boxee.
For those of you who don’t know about Boxee yet, it’s a great device that finds many of your favorite shows and movies on the Internet and puts them on your TV. Now you can add music to that list.
Thanks to the custom Boxee app, it’s never been easier for Premium subscribers to enjoy on-demand access to Spotify’s vast music catalogue directly on their TV.
So what are you waiting for? Put your feet up and get the tunes flowing!

Dance party bustin' out in the Boxee office : ) Sometimes app take a little time to proliferate through our system... once everything's pushed through, you'll find it in your featured section.
Sweet, I guess. The Android version has been FUBAR for months. Local files crash the device, just to notify a simple thing. Still no folder support. Any love for Android soon?
What about Spotify Unlimited?
Just search for the app if you can't find it :) Also how do you shuffle playlists?
Guess it's only for the Premium users, just like for the Phone.

since boxee is a port of XBMC is support for that coming too?

No search is a deal breaker in my opinion. Why spend all this time marrying the two devices together if you can't even use the core functionality we're all so used to?

Just installed boxee and can not find the spotify app. I even searched for it and still couldn't find it...
GET BACKUP FEATURE ASAP! do you know how many who use spotify for vorspiels who would not appretiate if their playlists are gone? for me, it would be a 14 day job at least to collect my songs again, if I ever could. People that are drunk love to fuck around. GET AN BACKUP FEATURE ASAP !

Great news, and I must say that the app feels & looks really nice! However, as many others already said, I too miss the basic search-function. Hopefully you/boxee will add this in an update soon. And how about local files? I have so many songs, mostly remixes, that are not available on Spotify, and which I have added by myself from my PC. Works great on my computer, and just as good on my iPhone, and I really, really want this in my Boxee Box too... An easy way to solve this would be to find the local files on my USB-connected harddrive. Please, try to fix these things and I will have nothing more to ask for! Great news with the app though, really exciting!

For you guys that really want a search function, you can always try spy!
An easy work around is just searching and creating playlists on your phone. They should instantly show up on your Boxee Box. If you're also using the Boxee iPhone remote app, you have all your controls in one device. :)
Is this ONLY on the Boxee Box, or is it on the Mac/PC/Linux as well? Because is use my Mac Mini as an HTPC with boxee, and I can't find it in there.
Awesome! I love the new app, it made my boxee box worth its money. I still miss a few things that I would like to see in the next update. Search, Shuffle, Que, and remote control from PC (and Android). Tnx Spotify!
Nice for Boxee users. And good to se the danes onboard. Now if we could get a decent iPad app any time soon. I closed my WiMP account today in hopes of a good iPad app for spotify in the near future.
gotta have Xbmc soon. Hopefully Roku and xBox and other upnp devices soon after Not holding my breath for using my iPad. . Likely have to hack the ATV or remote via iPad. Not gonna buy a $200 boxee remote. Either MS or Google, Amazon needs to buy Spotify already. If Netflix can buy, iTunes is even in bigger trouble And any of these guys, *gulps* Apple should buy Pandora. As long as Facebook doesn't buy Spotify then all good.
Not related, but it would be nice with an Outbox function...... you know so that i can see the awesome songs i've sent to other ppl.. just sayin ;)

i was just about to cancel my spotify subscription in favour of grooveshark. Think I might hang on for a bit longer and give this a crack.
When will Spotify have a Roku Channel? I own 3 Roku XDS boxes. Also could use an actual Spotify iPad app instead of using the iPhone app on the iPad.
Fantastic release. Overacheiving, really – not just a port of the desktop experience or something. Dig it. Search isn't super important to me, nor really local, but I'd really love to see Shuffle brought in. Thanks for the great work! Keep it up… it's a crowded market and Rdio beckons. :D
