Today we’re delighted to announce the launch of Spotify for Symbian. Symbian is the operating system used by a number of smartphones including Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung.

Today’s release means that Spotify Mobile is now available on millions more phones, such as the Nokia 6220 Classic, E71 and 5800 XpressMusic models for all our Spotify Premium users. The application will also run on some of the more popular Sony Ericsson and Samsung smartphones, such as the Samsung GT-I8910 Omnia HD and Sony Ericsson Satio. Symbian is our third launch for Spotify Mobile, along with previously released iPhone and Android versions.

So how do you find out if your phone can run Spotify? Visit www.spotify.com from your mobile browser and find out if your phone is supported. Alternatively, enter your phone number in the Spotify Mobile page. We’ll send you instructions via SMS on how to get started with Spotify Mobile.

We also list all supported devices on our Symbian page, so if you’re looking to buy a new phone and want to know which ones we support you can find them there.

We hope everyone enjoys this early Christmas present!

Woooooooow! Good news!

Nice one! :-) Still waiting for BlackBerry support, but this is great news! Congratulations Spotify!

Waiting for N900 support :)

I really really hate windows mobile right now, I want spotify!!

Just installed it and so far all I can say is Awesome!

Whoa! This is awesome! I guess I really have to continue my subscription after all. :)

ZOMG! I love you. JUST AWESOME.

I hadn't expected this yet. What a great start on a grey and cold monday!

Great work guys! Next Maemo???

Nice work! Please start supporting Maemo and N900 too, there's plenty of people waiting for that!

Great news! Why C drive installation for a such big file?! DRM or something other shite?

Why no E72 support? (I tried the binary m.spotify.com suggests for E72 but it doesn't work)

So it was PREMIUM ONLY. How about saying it somewhere before install???

No N79 support either? I went from elated to dejected in 2 minutes after reading that. Then I installed N78 client on my N79, which seems to work so far... in fact it looks very good indeed :-)

Good job, works great. :)

HAVE SOME CACKE!!!

Does this allow tracks in Offline mode.. ie to store a load on my phone?

@ashl - Yes, it has an Offline mode.

What about Windows Mobile? Please, just give us a hint....

Thanks! Works perfectly so far! :)

Renewed my subscription now! Finally the s60 version! <3 :)

When can we expect Spotify for Windows Mobile? Or do we have to rely on third party solutions like MySpot?

Thank you thank you thank you! I now feel that life have a purpose again ;) :) lol.. THANK YOU, it's AWSOME!!!

Thanks!! Great news indeed! Working nice on my Nokia E51 :) Keep up the good work!!

Does not work on E55, can't type the username and password with the "semi-qwerty"-keypad...:(

Waiting to rock with N900.

Works on my N82, even though not officially supported.

Various problems with N97. Vertical view and qwerty keyboard doesn't seem to work. Known bug or what? :/

Great, thanks! You cannot use qwerty with N97 (which is a shame), but otherwise the UI is great :)

Anybody have experiences with this and 5800? Can it be installed on the memory card (E:)? How much space does it take? Any problems? If others say it works well, I think I'll get premium early next month.

Nokia E72 is not supported :(

E71 works perfect so E72 should work to.

Yay! Too bad this won't keep me happy for a long time. I should receive my N900 this week. So, bye bye Symbian! =) Hopefully we'll see Spotify for N900 soon!

Thanks! Brilliant app!

Does it support N97 Mini?

The application renders incorrectly on E72 and some keys don't work...

Finally! :) I get an error that says I'm out of memory when I try to view an artist from the search results (the right-most tab in the search screen) on my N95 (not the 8 Gb version). Otherwise it works like a charm and I have already synced some of my favorite playlists. I don't want ruin this fine moment with some nagging, but when will we see last.fm scrobbling? ;)

Works like a charm on N79 as well :)

ohh so sweet! been waiting for this sence I was born.. Just got spotify premium and found out same day it has came for symbian, x-mas came yeary this year!

I cant find my pre-made playlists. A bug or is it supposed to be like that?

Jihooooo! It just installed it on my 5800. Works perfect!

Great! Everything seems to work on my SE Satio

@jhattara just installed on my 5800 it didn't ask where to install but the offline cache is definitely on my external memory card so no space problems likely. You can confirm this on the About screen in Spotify or by browsing around with the nokia File browser. Working well so far over wifi (I don't have a data plan so won't be using it on 3G). Synced my playlists fine and is downloading some for offline at the same time as streaming a new song. So far the interface has behaved consistently and unsurprisingly (clicking vs. clicking and holding behaviour). The play view is nice - big good res album art, readable text and easily clickable buttons. If I was going to be picky, I'd complain about the lack of last.fm scrobbling but that is a minor thing for the moment - the important thing is that I finally have Spotify on my phone! Thanks for the early Christmas present Spotify! A very nice well executed application.

I found my pre-made playlists now! Works like a charm. Great Spotify!! For you who are as speedy and eager as me, just wait a couple of minutes and your playlists will be there shortly :D I use a n78 by the way.

T H A N K Y O U. I love spotify.

I am very happy. works well, very intuitive. I am looking nostalgically at my ipod already.
