#TGIF! What songs are getting you into a weekend mood?
RIP to a true legend of disco, Donna Summer. http://t.co/vUvsXyvy
The long midsummer weekend is over, it only gets darker from here on in but hopefully a little new music will raise your spirits. We’ve added 1,333 albums and singles today, in total 15,646 new tracks are now available.
A few highlights include:
For a full listing of today’s additions please have a look at the Google Doc. As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions.
We’ve also made a small change to the regional top lists so that they now show the top 100 artists, albums and tracks in each country, up from the previous 10 results. However, this change does not apply to your personal top list.

Nice, very nice.
Thank you for all the lovely new music!
Synthpop highlights today include for non-UK: Little Boots, Sally Shapiro, Royksopp, Nouvelle Vague, A-ha. And in the UK: La Roux, Motormark @afront
Hola, para mi Spotify es el mejor software que encontre para escuchar musica online. Me gustaria obtener las entradas para el preestreno en Madrid de Sandra Bullock y la proposición. Gracias
By the way, is it possible to add an column for the album year in your Google Doc? It would make things even easier. Cheers!
I lack only the most recent album Placebo - Battle For The Sun
Octahedron is definitely very interesting. Check it out, folks!
Why are some of the highlights not in the google doc? Like Regina Spektor and Alexisonfire
Been looking for the following three releases the latest week, but still missing them: Major Lazer - Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do... Ugress - Reminessence and the o-so-great norwegian electropop band, Casiokids' new single: Finn Bikkjen! Hope you'll add them soon =]
@andysmith - They actually went up in a few countries last week and we're in a previous doc. But for most countries today is the release date. @esalaukkanen - I can probably add an "Earliest Release Date" column, not sure it's 100% correct but it might help.
Estoy empezando a conocer música de otros países gracias a Spotify, como la música francófona. Una pasada. Gracias a los creadores de Spotify, por el programa y por ofrecerlo de forma gratuita. Gracias.
Great list! Would it be possible to have a genre in the list also?
@ qwentyn - It's actually a mistake on my part. Those album were uploaded today but the release dates we have for them are later in the future. Normally I strip them out of the Google Doc but missed some this time. They will become available in the future.
thanks for the info !
Could you explain for us in a blog post why there are certain regional restrictions. Sometimes they don't make any sense (E.g. Swedish band Hird have their music on Last FM and MySpace but are not available to Swedish Spotify users) Each week there are more albums that I like that disappears than are added. Some of my playlists are growing thin and it's starting to get on my nerves. When you dread catalouge updates rather than looking forward to them something is wrong. As long as my playlists keep shrinking instead of expanding there's not much use of me paying for a Premium membership which is really, really sad.
anomaly2: Please share some of the artists that have been removed for you lately. For me it's quite the opposite with artists coming back.. As for Hird, I have no idea why that is. What I know is that there are still millions of tracks left to add for Spotify and if Hird are signed to "the right" label they will be added eventually.
Still the fact that music is disappearing is not good. One album that went away today was "Bruce Springsteen - Greatest Hits". However, another newer Greatest Hits album was added...but I would still like to get the old one back.
http://open.spotify.com/user/catmocca/playlist/6gD2vzUr6LoopHRSa41OJS This LP is skipping, sounds like a bad CD, loving the music, but don't like the popping... 5 and 6 are definatly broken :(
Could you please add some non-soundtrack songs with Peter Gabriel? I would appreciate it. Thanks
HI please upload more songs by Hanson. They have so much more great music, and I`m not talking about mmmpoop:-) great service
nice like the new toplists. great update
PLEASE can you put the Metallica , Feeder , Beatles , Mindless Self Indulgence ,Led Zeppelin ,Black Sabbath, Oasis and Red Hot Chili Peppers back catalogues up , also you need to put In Rainbows by Radiohead on , Invaders Must Die by Prodigy , and Open Door by Evanescence on there. Also you should put podcasts archives like Ricky Gervais and Russell Brand. that would be amazing!!!
Thanks
Also Madness back catalogue needs to be put on!
Keep up the truly wonderful work! Thanks!
Nice music and can you try to get ac/dc into spotify? i relly want to continue to use spotify and listen to ac/dc
-> bignich & iq-guldfisk The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC and Metallica have all opted out. So if you don't want to buy their records I guess you've to find them elsewhere. I can't suggest piracy since it's illegal, but wouldn't be nice to hit those greedy a**holes where it hurts the most? But I wonder what happened to Assemblage 23? All of a sudden a bunch of albums appeared, but almost all of them where gone after a couple of weeks. Very, VERY annoying!
Awsome new music. Although, I miss a lot of songs from ''Three days grace'', ''red'' and ''angel dust'', and it would have been nice to have artists such as ''Dima Bilan'', ''hana pestle'', and ''robert pattinson'' available. However, you are all doing a great job! All regards!
Nice update of tracks! Cheers! I notice now that it seems like my client updated itself to 0.3.17. What's new? Please post about what's being added/changed with each update of the client as well. Love
@stiffenstorm: Part of it is greed for sure. Another part could be refusal to adopt to a new way of listening to music. Even though I can't find the link now, I remember reading that AC/DC want people to listen to complete albums and not specific songs. And with that kind of artistic control, all sorts of digital distribution become difficult. Hopefully they will change their mind sometime soon...
@xnatasx: I'm not with Spotify, but I think the "total number of tracks and total time" in playlists is a new feature.
LAME!!! still no ensiferum songs -.-
@zamoht19: In Sweden there are three albums...
Beatles?
Ac/dc?
@frostrom: The Beatles and AC/DC are two bands who don't want to be a part of Spotify at this time. Other bands are Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Metallica. Personally I've chosen not to support those bands in any way...
yay, personnaly I have choosen not to support the Beatles and John Lennon anymore... ... Oh wait... :)
Secondhand serendes your call whould be awesome in spotify :D
@qwentyn: What's left of them still make millions of money... Check this out for example: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8078280.stm
I want the 70's studio albums by Procol Harum! Now there are only late live recordings. Swedish band The Ark, how come their last album, the two-year old 'Prayer For The Weekend', is still not uploaded? 'In Rainbows' by Radiohead still missing... Oasis: last time I checked them, ALL songs were there EXCEPT "Whatever", one of their very best!
@fewmanchu: A while ago all albums by Ulrich Schnauss were removed except for a few songs appearing on compilations. A few weeks ago all albums by Utada Hikaru were removed except for her album Exodus. Yesterday (June 22nd) the album "Wipeout Pure soundtrack" was removed. All due regional restrictions.
Not sure whether this is the right place, but you the two most recent albums by The Knife on spotify aren't by the Swedish dudes, one's by a rapper, one by a metal band. Just a correction.
spotify:search:label%3a%22digital+hardcore+recordings%22 <- Yay hooray! :)
some suggestions: when you share a playlist, it would be nice to be able to see how many people have it on their spotify. see how popular your playlists are! :) option to buy a full playlist or a number of tracks and download as one zip. that would be awesome.
--------------------- when you share a playlist, it would be nice to be able to see how many people have it on their spotify. see how popular your playlists are! :) ----------------- oh yeah, I'd love that too :)
now if only we could get rid of the "label search howto ad" I had to endure 200+ times in 10 days already. By now, I think I got it :D
Sweet :D Van Halen's albums 5150 , Balance , For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge and OU812 finally added. Thank you :)
@squidmonk3j: Actually, I think those are part of todays update. :) Still nice though.
i would love to have the swedish reggeae artist Kapten röd on spotify, would be extremely happy if you can fix that :) love from reggeasweden !
jesuschrist spotify, its heartaching to have one of the only two made, pendulum-albums available! So pleeease add the album; "Hold your colours" :] thx
