Downloads are used to buy music. Each download is equal to one track. You can buy downloads one at a time, but it is cheaper to buy a number of downloads all at once, in a “download bundle”. The larger the bundle you buy, the less each download costs.
Download bundles are offered in sizes of 10, 15, 40 and 100. Prices of downloads can be found on the Download feature page. These prices can also be seen when using the “Buy Downloads…” option from the menu in the top, right corner in Spotify.
When you buy downloads you don’t have to use them right away. They are valid for 30 days from the purchase date. Then, if you buy another bundle before the unused downloads have expired, their validity is extended by 30 days from the newest purchase date. The validity of downloads can be extended in this way up to a maximum of 90 days. Whenever you use your download to get music, the oldest downloads will be used first.
The music that you have purchased is without any expiry date and, of course, yours to keep.
Example:
If a download bundle is bought on the April 1st they would be set to expire on May 1st.
However, if a new bundle is bought on the April 15th, both sets of downloads
would then be set to expire on May 15th.
Please note that not all music in the Spotify streaming catalogue is available for purchase.
