Friendly blogger Jim Carlberg over at Finstilt writes about (in Swedish) a script that he has written for Salling Clicker that lets you control Spotify for Mac from your cell phone. If you want to try it out yourself, go ahead and download Spotify Remote 0.1!

Why not stream the song to the mobile
@zawaq There is a version available for Windows. http://salling.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6570 I haven't tried it myself yet but by the looks of the comments in that thread it works, at least parts of it ;-)

I've updated the original Salling Clicker Spotify remote code to work better with snow leopard and spaces. The updated script is found at: http://netile.se/projects/files.html. The site is in Swedish but the script is english. Although this script does a good job controlling Spotify it isn't a good solution. Please Spotify, give us an API. I would prefer AppleScript for the OS X version. Does anyone know how to uninstall Spotify Remote (Mac)? I don't really use it any more, and I'm tired of having to update it all the time to stop the "new version" pop-up from appearing all the time.
